Personel , friendly & super service from the lovely host. The rooms are perfect & very clean. The garden is beautiful. Breakfast was served hot and variety was good. The whole experience is simply divine.

One of the best guesthouses we have stayed in. We were greeted upon arrival by Magda and Cristo in the most friendly way and they continued to treat us as part of their family. The buildings and surrounding area was well maintained and quite beautiful. The rooms were very clean and functional, with a personal touch. The breakfast was excellent, freshly made and tasty. All together, we are very pleased and can highly recommend this place.

This is a lovely little guest house in Oudtshhorn run by an amazing couple Christo and Magda. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. They are more than willing to suggest activities in the area and recommend restaurants. Our room was quite small but we were only in it for sleeping so it didn't bother us. There is a small pool and loungers if you want to sunbath at any time. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. The guest house is very central and within walking distance of most of the restaurants.

We absolutely love this guest house and have stayed here many times before! Christo and Magda are wonderful hosts and very knowledgable about the area. The rooms are very clean and tidy, there is adequate secure parking and a lovely pool to cool down from the very warm sunshine! There are many things to do and the restaurants nearby are excellent! We have already booked again to visit in 2026.

My wife and I have travelled extensively around South Africa for many years. I must state that 88 Baron van Reede Guesthouse is the best Guesthouse I have ever stayed at. Magda and Christoph are amazing hosts and leave no stone unturned to ensure your stay is memorable. The rooms are beautifully appointed and could not fault anything. The grounds are beautifully kept and the buildings themselves are immaculate. We had breakfast in the morning and what a great meal it was, beautifully prepared and served. An added bonus are the restaurants that are within walking distance which was great that we did not have to get back into the car to go out again. If you are planning to visit Oudtshoorn and need to overnight then go no further. This is the place to stay.
