A lovely, quiet and comfortable hotel, not far from Cango Caves. The rooms are spacious and well stocked, the gardens are beautiful and the pool area is secluded. I usually have problems sleeping on the first night in a strange bed, but slept really well here both nights which I put down to the quiet and the comfortable bed. The decor is quirky colonial and the staff are super-helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it

Great experience staying in this hote.The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming ,helpful and attentive throughout our stay. High quality of service and attention to detail.The rooms were immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast .Beautiful garden and swimming pool, great location. Great value for money!!!

This country home is Absolutely stunning. We only stayed for one night but wished we had stayed much longer. Everyone of the staff were brilliant and just wanted to look after you. The grounds and swimming pool were lovely and peaceful. We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary and how they looked after us. We were in room 9 which was a palatial suite and verandah. We felt like royalty. When we went for our evening meal the table was dressed with gold leaves and balloon abd a glass of champagne. We had an ostrich steak which just melted. Everything about this place was perfect and so relaxing. Would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful place. Thankyou so much x

What an amazing place to start with the greeting from the manager and his staff was first class. They couldn’t have been more helpful or knowledgeable about the area. We were advised to go to the Kanga caves and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 10 which is a suite, which would rival anything in Las Vegas? A truly beautiful room we had dinner there and it was probably the best dinner we’ve had in South Africa. If I could give this place, six stars, I would you will not be disappointed.

Wow what a wonderful country lodge . My wife and I stayed there on our garden route golden tour . The owner and his wife really made us welcome and at dinner decorated our table with champagne , golden petals and balloons to mark our special day. The hostess literally went to town to find the appropriate decorations for our table The rooms are superb , large and very comfortable . The outdoor dining and breakfast area with veiw is idyllic and the grounds very well maintained with a lovely pool , shame it was to cold to try it out . Diner was one of the best we had on our travels as was the breakfast . Their lovely staff are a testament to South African hospitality. Thank you all for a memorable stay. I wish it had been longer

We had a lovely few days staying at Altes Landeshaus as a family & the team really looked after us during our stay. The grounds are lovely & quiet & the pool is an added bonus. The breakfasts on the terrace were substantial & filling & we enjoyed a dinner one evening. In all a great stay in a great place.

Great stay here in a beautiful setting with most welcoming hosts and staff. Very spacious accommodation and rooms with lovely gardens and views. The pool area was very inviting just a bit early in the season to swim ! Great food and service. We loved the breakfasts on the verandah with the open fire. The hospitality was fantastic and we hugely appreciated watching the Springboks game in the lodge lounge with the hosts and some of their family and friends. We visited the Cango caves and the Swartberg pass from there - both great.
