Stayed 1 night on a Leger Holidays tour. Before arrival our guide phoned ahead to book our group of 26 people into the restaurant for dinner. We were told this would be fine and there would also be porterage for our luggage. Plus as we had an early start in the morning a take away breakfast would be supplied and we would be given a list to select our choices. However on arrival the receptionist knew nothing of the conversation stating that her colleague had gone home and no one knew anything about the prior arrangement. So no porterage and no take away breakfast list. The issue of porterage was quite a problem as there was a fair number of elderly people in our group and some of the rooms had no lift access. (In fairness the receptionist did carry one elderly gentleman's case to his room) Our group was told to go to the Restaurant at 6-30pm for dinner which we did only to be told we weren't dining in the restaurant but in the bar area. We had no proper menu to look at and on complaining we were given a hastily prepared sheet of paper with limited choice and no prices. Once again we complained about this and another sheet of paper appeared with prices. We noticed that we were being charged the same price for our limited choice menu as the Ala Carte menu so why couldn't we be given the Ala Carte menu in the first place and sit in the proper restaurant? By now it was 8pm and a couple of our group had given up on the idea of eating and had gone to bed. The service we received was also third rate. Soup arriving after the main course and no spoon to eat it with, table water was requested which arrived but nobody thought about giving us glasses to drink it, food arriving luke warm/cold. Another 2 members of our group gave up with dinner and decided to eat bar food at the bar. They ordered their food together and one arrived an hour after the first. When we finally managed to track down a duty manager and brought all the above to her attention she was unsympathetic and quite obnoxious in the manner she responded to an elderly person who raised the difficulties the hotel were obviously having in catering for a group. You would think a hotel would welcome a group of 26 into their restaurant with open arms and provide a better service. The chaotic feel also extended into the rooms. Although they were of a fair size they were a little dated. The bathroom had a very deep bathtub that was quite hazardous to get in and out of even for a tall person like myself and there was no safety grab rails. There was a kettle in the room but no English breakfast tea and paper cups. (The kind of thing you would expect in a budget hotel) In fairness the take away breakfast was good and so large it also sufficed for lunch as well. Sadly any plus points were outweighed by the appalling treatment our group received the previous evening.

Let me start off by saying: if you are looking for a nice area for walking and cycling, this hotel may be worth it. The surrounding woods are quite nice. Other than that, don't expect much. As others have already mentioned, it's not a typical hotel but more of an outdated holiday resort. It's not even close to being worth 4 stars. There are two rooms per building, using the same main entrance, and you have to pay extra if you want the ground level room - which is apparently also the only one with a kettle and coffee machine. The stairs to the first-floor hotel room are quite steep and not accessible to everyone. The vibe it gave was 'sleeping over in your 70-year-old uncle/grandpa's attic'. The rooms are very old-fashioned, with no clock, an old radio you can't plug in because of the lack of outlets, and a bit of a musty smell. The 'two-person bed' is just two single beds pushed together, so if you want to be intimate with your partner or just sleep close together you will most definitely end up in the gap in between. The beds don't sleep great, either. There is no airconditioning so it gets quite hot in the summer with no way of cooling down, and the wifi is not too stable. There is also some mould in the shower, as well as rust, and the window in the bathroom does not open. The toilet sometimes refused to flush properly. Breakfast was standard, don't expect any vegan options except for bread and peanut butter. You are allowed to take some stuff for lunch, though, which is nice. There is no fridge in your room however, so keeping things cool is not an option. Also bring your own cutlery, plate & cup if you plan on buying breakfast/lunch at a local supermarket, because the room only comes with two plastic-lined paper cups. There is only one vegetarian main course on the restaurant menu, but the chef was very kind and made the vegetarian lunch options dinner-sized for us. Vegan would definitely be impossible, though. The restaurant and pool are also not that easily accessible for people in a wheelchair or with a walking impairment. Definitely get some sort of voucher or discount deal, otherwise the prices are way too high for what you get. You're not allowed to order food from Thuisbezorgd etc. The pool is... well, it's not much. It's small but barely anyone goes for a swim there, so chances are you will have it all to yourself. Bring something like a diving game or a ball if you want to have anything fun to do. The showers don't really work and half of them only have cold water. There is a tennis court but it will cost about 12 euros per hour to use it, and the 'sports fields' that are on the map they give you have become overgrown and cannot be used. You're not allowed to park your bike next to/close to your building but there is an old shed-like building in which you can store your bike. Had a single room for three nights in June. The weather was warm and sunny. Overall, I did not expect much from the hotel, as such it met or exceeded my expectations. The good points. o Close to walking trials and the great outdoors o Breakfast. There breakfast is hands down SUPER. o Had a disproportionally large bathroom compared to the bedroom. It was nice but seemed awkward but a good awkward o the room, furnishing and bathroom were modern. The bathroom had definitely seen an update o plenty of free parking Things to improve o the bathroom had a balcony (which was nice) but on the balcony there were cigarette butts. As a non smoker I can not stand this, but what it made it worse is that you have to question the cleaning staff if they don't clean that up. What else is getting missed o Single bed, was like for a very skinny person, not horrible kind of small o One Shampoo for 3 days, no refills. I think they could replenish the shampoo given it was for both shower and hand washing. o Dinner, had it once. It was okay but not 35 euros good for fish and chips and one beer.

Ooowja en het bed waar we onze huwelijksnacht moesten door brengen werd bij elkaar gehouden door een kratje onder het bed. Bed zakte al aardig door en vooral mijn man heeft verschikkelijk geslapen! Vooral jammer dat ze overal achteraf een excuus voor hadden. En o.a dus dingen die niet waar zijn! En daarna dus niet meer op je reageren als je hun nog mailt!

Great staff and great hotel. Ideally located for our European motorcycle tour and have us a much needed break. Great access to Arnhem and also allowed us a moment to pay our respects to the commonwealth troops that have their lives during operation market garden. Thank you Arnhem VDV

The environment is as beautiful as Little Switzerland, and the one-star Michelin restaurant that has been standing for 50 years is even more outstanding. You can walk and cycle around the hotel and live next to nature, which is comfortable and comfortable.

The hotel was very quiet. Beautifully located in the forest, with the dog we walked into the forest without having to get the car first. We understand that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and found the Grand Café a very good alternative. We could have breakfast here and enjoy dinner 3-gangen. Some feedback is that we would have liked to prefer a room, the map in the Grand Café is limited (a beautiful citizen or a piece of frites would not miss) and the coffee facilities in the room were disturbed. If you offer coffee facilities in the room like Bilderberg, a water cooker with solvent coffee is a farce.
