Absolutely amazing. A hotel and bed and breakfast in one. Can't beat the location and the rooms are huge with outdoor balconies in some rooms.

Avarage stay

The room was clean and even had a little fridge, microwave and kettle with lots of things to make tea. The breakfast that's included is substantial. The staff is Very friendly and helpful. Hotel is Centrally located. It is Within walking distance to most of the popular sites such as, Parliament Hill,Rideau, Byward Market, Canada art museum. I would definitely recommend and stay there again on my next trip to Ottawa.

The location is very good and suitable for Citywalk. The room is small but clean and hygienic, with complete cooking utensils and cooking utensils. The church outside the terrace adds to the atmosphere.

The room is simple and clean, convenient for parking, very close to attractions, and includes a simple breakfast.

Very close to Capitol Hill and other attractions, a quiet small hotel in a busy city, clean and tidy, breakfast is not much but very good. The only drawback is the air conditioner, which is like a window air conditioner, and it is very noisy. Fortunately, it was not too hot and it was turned off, otherwise it would be hard to sleep with the noise. It is recommended to stay in the season when air conditioning is not needed.

Although the hotel is not big, it is very clean, and the breakfast is good, very good!

It's near Rockward, so it's accessible, and the breakfast isn't fancy, but the taste is great and the composition is good. It doesn't look like a brand hotel, but it feels like a residence, and the view from the terrace was great.

We booked this hotel as part of our Eastern Canada road trip and it was easy to find and in an ideal spot near to the Byward market area. There is a problem with the homeless and begging in the city but that would affect you in most hotels in the area. The Byward is a no frills place but the balcony for the room, the great breakfast and the excellent cleaning made it the best value so far. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable so all in all we were very happy. There was even dressing gowns for us. We parked in the public car park next door and that cost me 14 dollars for the night it was handy and secure so no issues with that either.

I enjoyed my stay though parking overnight at the adjacent city owned parking lot was an additional $15. The room faced the front and had a nice balcony - I didn’t notice any street noise. Furniture was quite old and basic, but rooms and hallways were nice and clean. The tv did not work - when I asked at the front desk the person on duty just said ‘make sure the blue light is on the cable box’. It was - still didn’t work. I think those at the front desk are meant to help with problems - I got no help. The room was overly warm as well - the only solution was to open the window. Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs with bacon, yogourt, nice croissants, cereal, melon, toast, bagels etc. Overall my stay was just ok - if you want a modest 3* hotel near the Byward Market, the price at Byward Blue is hard to beat. Luxury - definitely not, but a good mid range hotel close to all the sights.

Impeccably clean, cozy, comfortable room with everything you need at your reach. It’s on a quiet street just a block away from the Byward Market, which boasts an ample choice of restaurants, and Rideau Mall, with hundreds of shops. Breakfast with generous options. Friendly staff. As a solo woman traveler I feel very safe here
