Hotels Near Bad Axe Throwing Ottawa in Ottawa

Stayed at the Novotel for a week in early Feb 2023 while attending a conference at the nearby Westin. I booked for a really low rate through hotwire. After a pleasant check in I was excited to come into a very large on the 8th floor with a separate seating area and a very large TV. Room was pretty clean although when packing up before check-in I found some items under the bed that did not belong to me. Location was perfect, right across from the Rideau Centre and the Westin/Conference Centre and within a short walk to the Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street and Byward Market. My only compliant is the walls must be paper thin as I could hear the ding of the elevator and conversations in the hall from my room. I was also there a four hour during a power outage in the evening. I assume the outage was unscheduled but there was a lot of confusion and no one at the front desk when it occurred. The hotel shares a building with a DND office which made it confusing leaving the building by the stairs as the stairway lead to a entrance that read ”DND property alarm will sound”, it took awhile to figure out how to exit by the stairs.

The hotel is on the roadside, the door is relatively low-key, pay attention to the room, but not particularly spacious, after all, the location in the center of Ottawa is really good, travel is very convenient. Basically, the surrounding landmark attractions and buildings can be reached on foot.

This was my first-time stay at reStays Ottawa. I booked four suites for a team business trip in April 2023 (2- and 3-night stays). Very glad to have chosen this hotel over my other go-to's! This is now my Ottawa favourite and I highly recommend it for the following reasons: - Value: Great for this calibre of amenities (spacious, new, clean, modern in-suite furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful provisions, terrific meeting spaces, public amenities - what a view on the 12th floor). Comfortable bedding for several nights of good sleep. - Service: Front desk staff (Josh, Mark) were very helpful with our requests. - Location: Excellent! Short walking distance to Parliament, Rideau Centre, Byward Market, etc. Whether for short or longer stays, I highly recommend this gem of a downtown Ottawa hotel.

This hotel is perfectly located for a stay in Ottawa, being a short 800 metre stroll to the Parliament Buildings, War Memorial, National Arts Centre, Rideau Mall, and very close to the National Garllery of Art and Byward Market . We stayed in Room 2223 which afforded a breath taking view of the entire Ottawa Skyline - treat yourself to this Executive King Corner Room. Breakfast at Spin in the Hotel was very good, and priced fair. In/Out Parking on site is also fair and convenient. The hotel was built in 1972 but is well maintained and kept super clean. BIG shout out to MARK at the Front Desk who is absolutely so Personable and went above and beyond the call of duty for us. And of course...CARSON, what can I say, he is the Manager that all Managers should strive to be, very very accomodating! Thanks Ottawa Marriott...we'll be back soon!!!

We just stayed for 1 night, the room was clean and comfortable. 25$ for overnight parking was a bit much I felt. The location is not the best for a Saturday/Sunday since it is an office area and almost everything around in walking distance is closed, just Tim Hortons and Startbucks is open.

Our room in this hotel was fine - comfortable king-size bed, adequate size, and clean. The staff at the front desk seemed a bit overwhelmed, suggesting that they might have been understaffed. However, they were polite and helpful when it was our turn. My issue with this hotel is more based on the exterior - TONS of construction in the neighborhood, leading to road closures everywhere. Fortunately, we were there on a Saturday, so it was quiet - but I can't imagine what it sounds like during a weekday! We also had to park in a surface lot on the next street over (paying $30C for the privilege), as the height limit for their underground parking garage is only 5'7” (!). The lot was basically a construction site headquarters, and unmarked by the hotel. We parked there and crossed our fingers, hoping we were in the right place, and that our car would be there the next morning (it was). Breakfast was mediocre at best - it was equivalent to the standard fare served by Hampton Inns everywhere. At least it's free there - we spent $50C at this hotel! These issues marred our experience, and I would have preferred to stay in an area where there wasn't much construction.

The hotel is very clean, the front desk is very welcoming and the bed is very comfortable. The location is very good, opposite the museum and a bridge to the Capitol Hill, the bridge is very beautiful. The hotel parking is 17.5 yuan after tax for one day, and the car can enter and leave at will during the stay. After check-out, you can stop until 5 pm (but can only stop, can't enter after going out).

Our family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport between connecting flights so our expectation was not high. We always had good experience with other Hampton Inns so this was just an easy choice, assuming a known quality hotel and also close to the airport. The Good about this hotel - 1. close to airport 2. free shuttle (details to follow) 3. has a couple restaurants just across from the parking lot if you don't want to venture out too far 4. check-in was quick The Bad - 1. Free shuttle only starts at 6am so if you need to catch an early flight you'll need to find a taxi. In our case, we had to pre-book a taxi the night before because we needed to get to the airport at 4:30am. 2. The hotel shuttle was just a plain white van with no signs indicating it's for Hampton Inn. Driver was not in any kind of uniform and when I knocked on his window trying to inquire, he came out and yelled 'What's going on'. Well not exactly what I expect a hotel shuttle driver to identify himself that way. When I asked if he's from Hampton Inn the answer was yes. But in retrospect any random guy can give me the same answer and we just kinda need to trust that driver that he's a legitimate Hampton Inn shuttle driver. The whole short trip to the hotel we were wondering if we would end up getting mugged. Just not a good feeling and I think the hotel can handle this a lot better, how hard is it to give this driver an uniform with a hampton inn logo, or print a hampton inn logo on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard. At least something to make your shuttle and driver look a little bit more legitimate and make your guests feel a little bit safer. 3. As mentioned earlier we pre-booked a taxi to pick us up at 4:15am, turns out the front desk forgot to book it for us. When we got down to the lobby and looked for the taxi, that's when the front desk guy realized he forgot about it. So we waited for another 10-12 mins for the taxi to come. (taxi fare from hotel to airport was less than $20) 4. Not all electric outlets are working, in our room the one attached to the side table lamp didn't seem to work. Had to search high and low to have enough outlets to charge 4 phones and 4 apple watches. The Very Bad - The mattress was the absolute worse, I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that have mattresses that dip down about 2 inches and with no support whatsoever. I'm not a big person, but my husband is so the whole night I was sinking and rolling to my husband's side. All I needed was a few hours of sleep between flights and I could not get that because of the mattress. Tossing and turning the whole night and could not find a good position. My back was hurting the next day like I was sleeping on an absolute garbage mattress the night before. We did not use the free breakfast, coffee wasn't ready during our stay, no other amenities were used. Good standard hotel with very friendly and helpful reception staff. If you are driving it is a great solution to visit Ottawa.

Had a little wobble at the beginning, when the room I was given had a giant crack across the window; however the issue was resolved quickly and professionally. The replacement room was excellent and while the tv remote was non functional, I was able to have it swapped out quickly and with no fuss for a working remote. The restaurant was fine, and while a little pricey, was tasty. Cleanliness of all common areas and the room itself was top-notch. Next to the Ottawa airport, so super-convenient for travelers, and I never heard a thing from outside so the sound dampening is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
