Returning to Le Cale d'Otranto Beach Resort with our family and friends was simply wonderful. The location and the architecture, which seamlessly blends with the landscape, are truly amazing, enjoying it every single moment. We were greeted by friendly and service-minded staff who made our holiday perfect for relaxation, whether in the stunning bay, the natural cave La Cricca, or the swimming pools located centrally and in the quieter relaxation area of the Masseria. The resort is expansive and offers numerous opportunities for sports. Taking a boat along the coast from the resort, snorkeling, and enjoying the perfect weather, abundant sunshine, and warm sea water was an incredible experience. This year, we also visited the local and natural beaches Baia dei Turchi and Spiaggia Alimini, just a 15-25 minute walk north of the resort. Evenings at the resort feature great entertainment in the theater after dinner. The restaurant offers a wide selection of traditional and delicious food, catering to those seeking healthy, nutritious, and tasty meals or those wanting to indulge in the rich flavors of Southern Italian cuisine. We stayed for almost three weeks and absolutely loved it again. Grazie mille e un grande abbraccio a tutto lo staff di Le Cale d'Otranto.

Le Cale d’Otranto is the most amazing place in Puglia. We have stayed there for three times now, and we are eager to come back. The rooms are cozy and authentic with a charming terrace or a small yard. The food is fantastic. The entertainment holds high class singers, actors, dancers and athletes. Everywhere you look there is an incredible view and atmosphere. An absolute must see.

Votes for: Facility: 1/5 Food: 3/5 Such a disappointment!! To sum up: Price WAY TOO HIGH for what you get, considering that you have to pay everything extra. The facilities NEED AN URGENT UPGRADE!! No cellphone signal or wifi in the rooms!! That's ridiculous!! But free wifi in common areas where there's signal anyways. Thanks for nothing. The food is mediocre and the parking is way too far away from everything, which makes this village very unattractive for curious people who would actually like to visit beautiful Salento. NOT COMING BACK EVER. --- Honestly, it was super advertised, but so NOT living up to my expectations!! So, first: the concept of this place might be interesting for someone who has no intention whatsoever so leave this village for a short visit to Otranto or Lecce or anywhere else. Why? Because it's a 15min walk from the rooms to the parking lot and you can imagine the enthusiasm of taking that walk with 30*C in the shades. Same thing obviously after you get back to the hotel, leave your car at the entrance parking lot and embark on your endless walk back to the rooms. All guests are around 50+ years old, maybe they just don't want to leave that facility. Second: The rooms. Literally Tiny. With facilities from the 80s. Not even 90s!! No cellphone signal or wifi in the rooms!! That's ridiculous!! But free wifi in common areas where there's signal anyways. Thanks for nothing. Plus: NO sockets close to your bed to charge your phone. So charge it in the bathroom. So there is the toilet which is 2 steps lower than the room, a toilet with uneven seating. A wall-hairdryer that is basically just a tube without regulation of intensity or heat - both at the minimum. The mirror is antique, the closet door doesn't close, The TV belongs into a museum. - check the photos I took!! The food: pick your 'shift'. Are You Always (breakfast, lunch and dinner) going to be eating on the first shift or always in the second one? No, you can't eat sooner or later. Means:fixed slots of 45min to eat, because then the next person, who was assigned to your table, will impatiently be waiting for you to finish. The food itself is nothing spectacular, really. It tastes loveless and just fills you, that's it. A buffet, a lot of choice, but nothing wow. Plus, coffee included in the high price only at breakfast, then it's charged extra. EVERYTHING IS CHARGED EXTRA!! You want to have a sunbed? Pay extra. A bottle of water? Extra. When you are finally lying on the beach and want to relax after walking and queues at the breakfast buffet, you won't believe it, the annoying entertainment team will stark rehearsing some musical at full blown volume in their 'amphitheater'. Random announcements of 'good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our musical' at 11am along with the songs..... The best thing is: it's not even for kids, cause kids are not allowed at the facility. So the musical is for some 50 year old audience. Not to mention the u

The is very nice and food was pretty good. There are a few remnants of Club Med around, signage and he gym. Ok so if you are used to Club Med then you will be disappointed by this version of all inclusive. I upgraded to gold for alcohol to be included but its very limited and strange. For instance you can get a gin and tonic free but you can order the gin and the tonic and make it yourself for free...wierd. Eating in the restaurant during your allotted 45 minutes is free for everyone and includes wine - no upgrade required. None of the food at the snack bar is free even if upgrade. Coffee machines in the restaurant are only available at breakfast. After that you have to pay at the snack bar unless you upgrade. Not even gold includes beach chairs, towel or umbrella. You will have to pay daily rental for that as well. There are some free loungers farther away from the beach but no shade and you will need to bring your own towels. No drink service at the beach. On the bright side, I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. They didnt seem as run down as other reviewers had hinted at. You get 2 bottles of water in the fridge at arrival and thats it. Many people refill in the restaurant. The floors werent cleaned during our stay but thats ok we just didnt go barefoot. Clean towels and beds made daily. Cute little private patio to our room. 5 days and not a single mosquito bite which was awesome. Plenty of jellyfish in the ocean (which happen to be a protected species there) The water is clear so you can usually see them but stings happen. All in all it was ok and if you have never been to Club Med you will love it.

From the first moment Le Cale d'Otranto is a nightmare. And for reasons that are not obvious. Because the hotel lies in an idyllic location, with a lot to offer. Over a small, fjord-like bay, surrounded by pristine mediterranean vegetation, with crystal-clear, turquoise-blue water and an exclusive sandy beach in the corner. An oversized pool, fragrant gardens, alleys lined with oleander bushes, wild rosemary, cypresses, pines and olive trees as far as the eye can see. And the staff is helpful and friendly too. So what could go wrong? Unfortunately, a lot. The hundreds of rooms are nested in rows of bungalows. Together, they form an oppressive, dark, homogeneous labyrinth. Already the first look into any of the rooms is shocking. Whoever created this paradise by the sea did their best to make every guest feel like they were in prison. A lot of savings were made on window frames: just one window per room, 40 cm wide and 70 cm long. It takes a special talent to build so strikingly dark, cramped rooms in such a uniquely beautiful location by the sea. Once you accept the inevitable place you will sleep, you drop your luggage and search for light, fresh air and views of the bay, available at the wide open spaces reserved for hotel guests. You hope they will save the day. But then you realize: No matter where you go in the facility, there is nowhere to escape from unrelenting pop music blast from morning to late at night. The merciless noise permeates the entire landscape. Exhausted, without a single spot to escape to, you start counting the hours until the time is over.

Golf Coach Pier Luigi taught my son his very first golf lesson. We subsequently had several more lessons because he enjoyed himself so much, ending our stay with a mini game. Pier Luigi is an extraordinary gifted coach, imparting critical knowledge in an understandable and engaging way, to enable my son to grasp the techniques required to play his few holes of golf. Coach Pier Luigi has sparked a wish to play golf in my son in a way that no other coach has done when my son has tried a new sport. I would sincerely recommend anyone tries golf at Cale d’Otranto. He also has experience of coaching visually impaired golfers so do not let any disability stand in your way of trying this wonderful game.

Posto stupendo! Paradisiaco!!! Completamente immerso nella natura lontano dai rumori della città e a pochi metri dal centro di Otranto! Nonostante siamo state sfortunate perché il tempo non è stato dalla nostra parte, siamo state benissimo! Animazione e spettacoli !!! Cibo eccellente!

Sergio e Erika
