This lodge is a truly nostalgic and awesome place. It perfectly resembles the imagination of Africa to people who were born before 1980, provided that they have never set foot on the continent before. That being said, the rooms are huge, the garden, the swimming pool, and the setting at the artificial lake are all stunning. The food was not too shabby, either. Remarkably, the safari game drive with Orlando was outstanding, and probably the best we had in Namibia. This lodge is popular with tour groups and caters to this audience, with having with hippos on its compound, which are not endemic to this area and flamingos with clipped wings. For some, the fact that Okonjati Game Reserve allows hunting might be a no-no. That being said, we really enjoyed our stay and wished we had a second night there.

Wow. The night we spent at Mt Etjo safari lodge was the most wonderful night we spent in Namibia. It was for a great part because of the fact we stayed at "the villa." This villa was huge! We had our own pool, very nice views of the lake/waterhole with hippo's swimming in it. At night we could hear them as well as lions. We did the lion feeding which was also a very nice experience. Private gamedrive was excellent. Beautiful reserve. Private bush brunch very good, dinner very good. The whole property was beautiful and very big.

We, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, stayed in the Villa of the lodge for 2 nights mid of April with a Hippo swimming in the lake in front of the Villa. Breathtaking view on Mt. Etjo table mountain with flashes from a thunderstorm in the night. Great service and very friendly people everywhere. Tasty food and spectacular game drives with lots of animals around. We can highly recommend.

Nice lodge bye the NP. When we arrived no one cared to check us in. The staff looks like they are forced to work, so you have to dig out any kind of information from them. We booked an afternoon gamedrive, which despite bad weather ended very well seeing male lions, and rhinos. The buffet dinner was not good. When you look at the lodge and how classy it is, then you expect more than that in a dark room with smoke. We went for a rhino tacking on foot and had to go early in the morning. here we saw both grey and back rhino! For the price it's well worth to do, as it's cheaper than other places like Palmwag. The breakfast brought by the guide was horrible and we didn't ate anything of it. So to sum it ups, if you're out for wildlife photography, then this lodge it for you! But the bad food draws it down for us.

Visited this time(after 2019) with my 88 year old former boss to let hin have an impression of a good lodge and a nice safari experience. It was a full sucess, the romm as confortable and spcious for a godd price, the food delicius as ever by the same chef as 2019, beautifully kept meadow, large pool. The safari contained the rhino trekking in the morning, congrats to the guide who showed us 5 rhinos after some walk.The eveneing game drive included elefants, springbock, fox, Zebras, giraffs. rhinos, kudu and antelope and a lonely Hippo in the large lake. Thnaks to much rain this year the grass was high and all was sooo green. May Mount Etjo SafarinLodge continue to lure and amuse us tourists for the next hundred years. Beautifully situated lodge in a very large and species-rich private reserve. Excellent service, friendly staff and great support with any problems that may arise, such as getting stuck on access roads during the rainy season (experienced first hand)!

This place has an Old African vibe, nothing is modern, but it takes you back to the roots and traditions of a true African experience, we met the Manger Hencu who was amazing, professional and friendly. Emma was also very kind and our children loved her. Thank you for making our visit special.
