Etchuya Ryokan

A Showa-style Japanese-style inn, not far from the station. The rooms are large and spacious. The facilities are a bit old, but it has a unique flavor. There is no wifi in the room, so please pay special attention. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal, which tastes salty. It is probably because it is too cold in Hokkaido. The overall price/performance ratio is okay. If you want to experience a Japanese-style hotel at a lower price, you can choose this hotel.

It is large enough to enjoy with a large number of people. The room was nice and very good stay. Only one point, the door at the entrance is glass, so you can see the room from the outside. There is a curtain, but it can be seen from between. .. I was scared that a man was peering from the outside. I hope to respond to it, such as making it frosted glass. Other than that, I was very satisfied. I would like to use it again.

The residence in Otaru is the most satisfying residence during the trip to Hokkaido! The price of an average hotel per capita can live in a two-story Japanese homestay. The interior of the room is very clean and tidy. The decoration style is Japanese. It can be seen that the boss's family has a good aesthetic and loves the house. Special thanks to the boss family! A group of people arrived at Xiaoyan on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was all closed. When they were going to the convenience store to deal with it, the proprietress learned that we were hungry and cold all the way and made dumplings and hot pot for us. It was super delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. Very unforgettable New Year's Eve memory 🎆 By the way, it is very convenient to take bus No. 11 from Otaru Station. It is a few steps to the beach. It is very sensational. It takes two steps to walk along the beach to the Otaru Aquarium (you can buy tickets in cash). It is recommended to use this place as a place to visit Xiaoyan and Yuanyan. Booking one night is definitely one of the things I regret most on this trip. 😂

Jinyuan is a self-check-in B&B, so remember to contact the host first to get the door code. You can also contact the host again when you arrive. You need to wait for a while. The B&B is very clean and warmly decorated, and the public facilities are well prepared. Slippers, kettles, microwaves, bath towels, bath supplies, hangers, hairdryers, desks, disposable toothbrushes, etc. are provided, as well as bubble bath. The teapot and tea bags can be used to make tea, which is very good. This time I stayed on the second floor and was upgraded from a single room to a larger double room🥳. The heating can be turned on in the room, which is very comfortable. What is more inconvenient is that you need to carry your luggage and walk up the stairs to the second floor, which is a bit difficult. It would also be better if the pillows could be harder ~ The price is cheap and comfortable 👍
Hostel Jumpu Manpan

A delightful hostel run by students from the local Otaru University of Commerce. I had originally imagined this place to be a shabby student dig but the property, a newly renovated house once lived by the CEO of a local company, was better equipped and maintained than some of the hotels I stayed in the centre of this town. As I felt tad too old for a dormitory experience (I had enough of that at school) I opted to stay in a single room. Even in the coldest of seasons the room was warm and cozy, and the bed was comfortable and clean. If you are safety-minded you could ask for a room key, though I found this totally unnecessary as there was always someone looking after the house. There is a large kitchen you can use to prepare food, and unless you are looking to indulge in heavy cooking the facility is more than adequate, and in the living room there was a low table and a kotatsu, a Japanese table with the under-the-table heater and a blanket. You can’t experience this in a hotel normally but it is a traditional winter fixture in Japanese homes. An added bonus of staying here was the chance to speak to the students about their life in Otaru. It was a welcome change to the bland experience I had gotten used to staying in a hotel, and a priceless experience spending time with the young local entrepreneurs.

This is my first time using it. It's hard to do at home or in the neighborhood, but it was great to be able to do it on a balcony that is resistant to rain. It was still a little cold, but the grilled meat and seafood while warming up with a lot of charcoal around the stove was very delicious and it was a great excitement with a total of 7 people. The ladder stairs in the bedroom were a little scary, but I slept soundly until morning. All the staff were friendly and used it comfortably. Thank you very much. I think I want to go again. Thank you.
