Hotels near Akershus Fortress in Oslo

The location is great, right in the centre of Reykjavík, 5 minutes walk to reach the main attractions. The room was clean and tidy and there was a complimentary breakfast offered which was great.

I spent a night at Comfort Hotel Xpress Central Station Oslo, and while it's a no-frills accommodation, it's worth mentioning its cleanliness and thoughtful amenities. The heated bathroom floor was a pleasant surprise, providing an extra touch of comfort. Since it's a straightforward hotel, there's not much to elaborate on, but for a one-night stay, it served its purpose well. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, with friendly and polite staff readily available to assist if needed

Location is very good 5 minutes walk from Oslo Central Station Opera House is also within walking distance You can get around most of the city by taking the tram. The room also has a double bed, so it's enough for one person. However, there seemed to be a small number of pots and heaters, so the rental had ended. I went to the first floor several times to get hot water. Even if there was no cleaning, it was perfectly fine as it was a 2 night stay. The inside is beautiful. It's cheap and recommended.

We spent three nights at this hotel and while it wasn't terrible we would not choose to go back. The rooms are small and have minimal furnishings. There is nowhere to unpack and little place for relaxing or working. We did appreciate having a view of the Opera House but the extra money we paid for a balcony was wasted as the balcony had no furniture. The breakfast was fine; we did not have a problem finding a seat though others we saw did. The only 'extra' in the lobby is water; other snacks and drinks must be purchased. The staff was uneven. On our arrival day the people at the front desk were quite rude, later staff were pleasant. One note - though Oslo is a very safe city, the area around this hotel attracts what homeless population we saw in the city (there seems to be a drop in clinic there). While we never felt threatened, we did have to change our route near the hotel to avoid unwanted attention. Some travelers might prefer not to have to deal with this. We saw many other hotels in the area and think they would be a better option.

I booked this hotel based on reviews saying that it was quite centrally located. And for the most part it is. The central train station is a 17-minute walk with luggage. But once you get to the hotel, there are steps and curbs. We came in from the airport in a taxi. (Avoid. The fare can give you a heart attack or a fine dining meal.) My luggage had broken and so I had to lug my, well, that's the reason they call it luggage. It's quite a walk from the taxi stand. We had to circle the hotel as the driver was not familiar. The rooms are small painted black and purple/reddish that seemed to be intentionally dramatic as the hotel is across the passageway from a theatre. It gave the room a dark tone and an Alfred-Hitchcock-Psycho sense. The toilet is in a smaller room separate from the bathroom sink and shower. I thought that the hotel tried to compensate. The breakfast was the best in my visit to seven cities. Then, included in the hotel package, was an afternoon tea and a dinner. The dinner was homey--salad, soup, fish, fries and soft drinks. If you are so minded, it could be a dinner. Staff were helpful. We had an issue with the room and after explaining the staff said: I do not really understand but let me come up and see how I can help. In contrast, some staff in other hotels have simply shrugged their dhoulders.

So good that it was a bit unexpected. Most hotels in northern Europe are small, but this one is quite spacious. The building is relatively high, and the scenery is very good. The breakfast is rich and there are staff who can speak Chinese. Five stars praise. There is a bus to the airport right in front of the hotel.

The staff went above and beyond, I am amazed about their professionalism and their hospitality . It was one of the best hotel and staff that I ever met! The general manager, receptionists, cleaning staffs , everyone was very helpful and friendly . The hotel is super clean, the food is amazing and the beds are very comfortable. Thank you to all the stuff for warm welcome!

Nice hotel in the centre of Oslo. The rooms are not big and spacious, but they are clean and well furnished as well as bathroom. Breakfast is excel. Overall experience including position of the hotel cleaness and value for money is excellent...close to bars and night life, centre and attractions and not too expensive for Norway

In a city with expensive hotels without a good reason, I dared to tried the luxury package of this hostel: Own room with bath, linen (you still need to make the bed yourself) and breakfast. All for a reasonable rate of 850 NOK. The location is nowhere near where you are likely going, but it is possible to walk to/from the metro stop and Storo shopping centre if you're ready for 15 mins walk or so. The hostel is acceptable though totally without charm. The view from the window is over the parking lot but the room and bathroom feel sufficiently clean. Sleep quality is OK, some noise travels in the building and quite a lot of people hanging around. The breakfast is below expectation. Dirty dishes mixed among plates and cutlery make you think the attention to detail might not be there in the food either. You do not take a big breakfast here; just not feeling that hungry. The big plus is the price. But even given that, the experience is so-so.
