Dotonbori Hotel

Dotonbori Osaka|0.2km from Kani-doraku
I spent 1 night in a single room at the Dotonbori hotel for which I paid just 7150 Yen. The room was tiny even by Japanese standards (the only place I could fully open out my suitcase was on the bed). The ”pod” bathroom (a bit like a ferry cabin or some Ibis chain hotel bathrooms) was a little tired, and I suspect the carpets may have been fitted when the hotel was built), but the range of included services and snacks, and helpful staff made up for it. Slightly odd nightwear in the room - not a proper yukata, a sort of odd cross between a nightshirt and overgrown baseball shirt with buttons down the front, as well as (of course) slippers! The usual range of toiletries, toothbrush etc in the bathroom. Having done an evening Osaka tour, I arrived too late for the free ice cream and beer, but claimed one of the last free ramen pots in reception in the evening. The lounge area felt more like a convivial hostel lounge than a ”just sit here until my taxi arrives” posh hotel lounge - no bad thing! Tea was also available. I'd completely forgotten my room rate included breakfast, and was very pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of food the following morning. While there were cakes, pastries and western-ish hot food (scrambled eggs, some sort of sausage, even a pasta dish) I went for the Japanese breakfast options including grilled fish, rice, miso and 2 helpings of the delicious asparagus in sesame sauce. There were pickles, noodles, even sushi if you wanted. The next morning after checking out I was able to leave my suitcase with the reception staff while sightseeing in Osaka, rather than having to pay for a locker at the station, and picked it up before heading to the station. A budget hotel providing better services than many more upmarket options, in buzzing Dotonbori.

It's 5 to 10 minutes away from the subway station, so it's very convenient to move around. It was very nice to walk about 5 minutes to Dotonbori. The facilities were very tidy and I could sleep well. Korean guidebooks and English guidebooks are also provided when checking in, so you don't have to know Japanese. The staff also read very much.

The room is quite nice but it’s very very humid it also overlooks the street which can be a bit annoying at night as it’s not sound proof, I think they should tell the guests not to be Loud after midnight as some guests try to sleep, they don’t have a washing and drying coin machine which can be extremely helpful, if you are looking for a good location then this is the place for you

Good value for money. I applied for 2 nights, but the schedule changed, so I only had to stay for 1 night, but the price increased a lot because I tried to cancel and rebook. It was a night flight, so it was nice to be able to rest in the middle. There is no separate check-out system, so it was easy. Check-in is from 3 o'clock, so if you go in advance, you can leave your luggage and give me a number ticket. Just show it when you find your luggage. There is a Family Mart right in front of you, so it was nice to buy snacks and water. There is no free bottled water separately. It's a bit unfortunate.. You can bring pajamas and amenities in the lobby. You can only take your pajamas once. When I went to the room, only the eco bag and towel were placed on the bed, and the towel was hung on the door after cleaning the next day. When you don't clean, you give mineral water. It's very mini. ㅋㅋ Small, but there is a large bath on the second floor, so it was good to relax. Best of all, the location is good. It's also very close to barley. If you go out a little bit, you will see barley river. There are many bars in Hutong You can walk about 10 minutes from Nankai Nanba Station, and you can walk 10 minutes from anywhere. It was nice that it was not too central, so it was less noisy. However, the room is too small. We slept with three people because we couldn't open the carrier, but we almost stayed in a pile of luggage. The bathroom is also equipped with a bathtub, but it is very narrow. When the toilet is watered down .. Well .. I feel like using a train toilet ㅎ There's a restaurant next to the lobby, and there's unlimited drinks and alcohol. Because it's an ambiguous time, we eat a glass of food and move around, but we can make cocktails or eat sake or whiskey freely. You can also have coffee. There is also a microwave oven next to it, so it would be nice to refer to it. The staff don't speak Korean, so everyone is friendly. I think it's good value for money for about 110,000 won per night. I think it's okay except for those who don't like stuffy things, I recommend it to those who want to do hot springs and find a good location at a low price.

It was closed all the time during the corona disaster. Even after the reopening, there were many days when the room was full, so I made a reservation at the end of December of the previous year and finally was able to stay (2023/2/27 night). When I stayed at Jusan's ”Hotel Lantana Osaka”, I learned about the existence of this hotel. I used it to watch a movie at Cine Nouveau in Kujo on this day and the next day. The location is convenient for sightseeing on the north side of Dotonbori. The room was an interesting structure where you couldn't see the bed when you entered the room. The bed is standard double (160cm in hood), and an alarm clock is placed on a small table beside the bed. We have everything you need. What was not there was a tea bag coffee stick. A free mineral water is available. BS TV cannot be watched. The bathroom with a bathtub, toilet and wash basin has a step of about 25 cm. People with weak legs need to be careful when entering and exiting.

Transportation is convenient. There is also a convenience store downstairs and close to a supermarket. Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi are within walking distance It's close to a highway. There is motorcycle noise at night. People who are light sleepers should not consider it. Overall it's not bad.
