Shukuhonjin Yukimura

Shukuhonjin Yukimura is located in the heart of Osaka (Joto Ward) and was originally built in 1909, during the 42nd year of the Meiji era. It is one of the few standalone traditional Japanese houses that survived the air raids of World War II. This historic house has been remodeled with a Sengoku period (Warring States) theme. We invited a renowned and highly popular Japanese ink painting master to create stunning murals depicting the legendary battle between two famous generals of that era, Tokugawa Ieyasu and Sanada Yukimura. Inspired by the crimson armor and katana of General Yukimura, the house is boldly designed with a striking red color scheme. It is one of a pair of twin-style traditional Japanese guesthouses, along with Shukuhonjin Gamo. Although the two are connected, each maintains its own distinct style, catering to groups of all sizes. 1.
