Château d'Ortaffa

We had a lovely 3 days in the this beautiful home. The hosts Alain and Michelle are really warm and welcoming and very attentive to all our needs. Breakfast on the terrace was plentiful with homemade jams and homemade yoghurt, croissants and bread and fresh orange juice and fruit. The room was spacious with a separate sitting room, big bathroom and a huge window overlooking the church. The bed was extra large and very comfortable. The air conditioning was welcomed on the first night when it was very hot. Ortaffa is quiet with many lovely hilltop towns and great wineries for great dining, and the beaches nearby are lovely. A visit to Colliere is easy from here. I highly recommend a few days in this beautiful place.

Chateau d’Ortaffa The hotel is for those who wish to explore the area and of the local population than a mere tourist destination. The building is full of character. Our hosts were very friendly and very welcoming. It was enjoyable.

Alain and Michelle welcome you in their incredible home with warmth and charm that continues throughout your stay. Alain was so helpful in directing us to what we wanted to see and his restaurant recommendations were just perfect. As for the house - it’s difficult to describe how extraordinary it is, being a reflection of Michelle’s years as an antique dealer and their collective love of art in all its forms. We stayed in the Toscane suite for 3 nights - it’s huge and supremely comfortable. The breakfast is divine - local confitures and honey, home made yoghurt and divine coffee. The area has much to offer - we filled 3 days with visits to Collioure, Perpignan and Ceret and other delightful villages with a French/Catalan influence. We cannot recommend Chateau d’Ortaffa enough and feel privileged to have stayed there.

Beautiful in every sense. The warm welcome from Alain and Michelle, the most elegant building and interiors and character, a privilege to stay there. The breakfast is a feast of local produce and Michelle’s homemade yogurt is dreamy. Great location to explore the area, and great restaurant recommendations. So memorable, we will be back x

Wish we could have stayed longer Host was so kind and helpful. Location and chateau was amazing. The room was nicely decorated and furnished. It was very roomy with a private full bathroom.
