Marriott's Grande Vista

I love this hotel. I could live here. There is always so much to do. I love the variety of pools. Quiet pools and fun/busy pools. I love walking to the coffee shop and around the whole place. Excellent pickleball courts as well. If I could change anything I would suggest updating some of the older rooms. I love the location of the golf village but the rooms are looking and smelling old.

Check in was long and tedious. Really long. On our way to the room the elevator got stuck. Fir 20 minutes we waited for rescue. Neither the emergency light or the bell or call button worked in the elevator. Really unsafe. Not one hotel rep called to check on us after. It was impossible to call on the phone and speak to anyone. When you had a need or a problem you were forced back to the lobby to stand in another long line. Rooms were nice and clean. But checkout was also difficult

I have stayed in this hotel many times and I have seen a decline on cleanliness and services. Last time I stayed there I found some hairs around the tub and I didn’t say anything just took care of it myself, I thought this is a one time thing, it happens, since I have stayed here prior and was always very happy with the cleanliness. I stayed here yesterday and sure enough a bunch of hairs stuck on the wall of tub, I called front desk to inform them, but nothing happened, so again I removed it myself but it was nasty. This hotel is very expensive and I don’t mind paying but with it I expect certain standards of cleanliness and services. Also we are 4 and the sofa bed didn’t have any bedsheets or anything at all, I called front desk and housekeeping left a bag on the floor for me to fix it myself. I don’t mind fixing the sofa bed myself but it certainly makes one wonder if staying at this hotel with these prices is WORTH IT…. I am looking at other resorts to vacation with my family at this point….hopefully someone in charge will read this and make some changes because honestly like I said I have been coming here for some years now with my family and have been very happy but over the years I have seen a decline.

We have stayed at this resort before and really enjoyed it, but I am extremely disappointed with our most recent experience. Upon check in, we were told that the building they were putting us in is under construction and we would not be able to use our balcony, but that we would be able to contact the front desk the next morning and they would move us to a different room. I contacted the desk and they said they could not move us because the hotel is “coming close to being fully booked out.” We explained that we are on vacation from our kids and stressful jobs and fully intended to sleep in, take naps during the day, and use our balcony, so we were flexible and would take any room that is out of the construction zone, even if it isn’t the same as our current room. They still did not move us, so we essentially could not enjoy our room from 9 am until 6 pm for our entire stay. One day the entire resort lost power and internet for almost an entire day, which resulted in the on-site restaurants closing for the day. I was already disappointed in Marriott for not proactively offering some type of compensation for all the inconvenience, and for selling us a room that was not actually available, but I was even more disappointed when I asked for some compensation and they refused. I am very disappointed to see just how much Marriott values the dollar over their guests’ satisfaction.

Property is very nice. Rooms are very nice done and veey clean. The only thing thats annoying was finding a parking spot.
