Best Hotels in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines

Stayed here as a group, on a medical outreach program to Mindoro. 6 night stay. Very comfortable hotel for the price with friendly and efficient staff. The hotel is set back from the road a little, with gated entry and just opposite a large mall. Only about 10 mi it’s or so from the port, via which we arrived from Batangas City on the ferry. Airy reception with, as I say, friendly and efficient staff. This is old school so one is presented with an old fashioned key on a chain of which there is only one per room. So, as we were sharing on this trip, it is essential to put your key behind reception when you leave to avoid locking your roommate out of the room inadvertently. The rooms are pretty typical of hotel rooms worldwide. Comfortable beds and a bathroom with over the tub shower. Whilst I am on that subject, we were unable to coax anything more than tepid water from it during our stay and I’m not really a fan of cool showers! Housekeeping also seems hit and miss. There are small signs one pits on the bed to have it made up but these went unheeded a couple of times. Also the bathroom supplies are sp**** and weren’t replaced regularly during our stay. I am sure one can make representations to reception to have these things done but we didn’t. Sleeping on the reception side of the hotel meant it was very quiet. However, be aware that those that overlook the pool are also close to the bar which can be quite noisy apparently, according to some of my colleagues. There is a weird thing if you choose, as I did, to use the stairs rather than the elevator to access your room. The bottom step of the second flight is several centimeters taller than all the others. This may not seem a big deal but I tripped twice going upstairs and a member of our party turned her ankle there so be warned. We were served breakfast every day, and ate one dinner at the pleasant dining space. The food was simple but well presented and tasty. Overall a very comfortable stay and I’d stay here again without hesitation. They will also provide a laundry service for next to no cost which proved very useful on our trip

Amazing staff, extremely friendly and very professional. Right on the beach, although the beach is a little dirty, not so nice. However, it's a cheap ride to the beautiful White Beach. The spa attached to the resort was also great! Food was good. Would definitely recommend!

I'd like to graciously comment that to some extent, we had a good and fulfilling stay except for an uncomfortable experience in meeting a few ”defensive” staff of Jack Daniel Apartments. I would kindly suggest that next time, please welcome your guests warmly first before telling it to their face the cost of (e.g.) extra mattress for each night, missing bath towel, etc. I think it's intimidating to confront the guests with ”this and that prices” when they have just arrived. I regret to say that some staff were defensive in their explanation. Another intimidating act was the suggestion of Ms. Jocie for us to book another room with two superior bedrooms, when our booking confirmation stated 4 adults and 4 children. It was just relieving when she finally honoured the Agoda Booking Confirmation, but not after hours of long discussions 😢. Anyhow, I wasn't very glad to pay Php 2,000. for two extra mattresses for our additional two school children; and even this amount is high. We liked the swimming pool and the gardens. The property must have seen long years but well maintained. Despite my experience with a few intimidating staff, I'd like to thank Jack Daniel Apartments.

Process: Go to the luxury family room scheduled for diving on National Day. It is about 100 meters away from SABANG beach. The entrance to the mountain for the first time is not easy to find. Breakfast has American and noodles. The American default is 2 slices of grilled meat, 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of toast, small sauce jam and butter; if you want noodles, cook noodles; Overall rating: Very good Advantages: good service attitude and good sanitation; environment is good, there is a drop, and the vegetation is rich; the rooms are basically detached houses, and the rooms on the hill can overlook the entire SABANG beach; quiet and ecological, and there are insects calling at night Sound, there will be cuckoos flying to the balcony in the middle of the night, and geckos can often be seen outside. It's quiet, it's family-friendly. The dive sites are close and allow a return to the resort after each dive. The equipment is mounted on the block and awaits us on the bangka. At the end of its stay, it is returned washed and dried. For the dives Christophe and Hippo will unearth the wonders to see. The day at Isla Verde is worth doing. A room is dedicated to the photographer to recharge the batteries and dry the equipment. The bedroom with 1 double bed is spacious with local artisan decor. The meals are excellent. The local staff is friendly and available and quickly remembers your first name. Well done Alain. The massage at the resort is of better quality and cleanliness than in town.

The newer hotel has been open for almost a year. It is opened by Canadians. The diving instructor is also a Canadian. You can change the diving suit at the hotel, take the hotel boat to the diving spot, and come back to the room to bathe directly. It is very convenient. Because they are not big, they are supervised by everyone, and they are enthusiastic about each and every one of them. You can talk to them if you have any needs. They will try their best to make you satisfied. There are welcome drinks, Western food and Philippine and Chinese food. It is a good place to relax. The room is clean and the water in the bathroom is not fast, but the island's fresh water resources are like this. There is hot water, it won't be too hot. It is very hot outside. Oh, wifi is not fast and unstable. I don't know if it is a problem with my mobile phone. The garden is beautifully furnished and comfortable, with birds singing all day long. Finally, remember that there is no problem with mosquito repellent, haha.

Service and hotel was fantastic. Very relaxing and the food was A+++ only negative was a lot of confusion with the final bill. I think it should be more itemised and in Filipino currency not US. Whenever you order food you should be given a bill. You are not really sure if it is accurate. Otherwise I would stay again.
