The hotel was older but rooms were clean and had a lovely little balcony with a great view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though the room that we were in it didn’t distract from the overall experience. The had a continental breakfast provided that was adequate for our needs, juices, cereals, yogurt, fruit, cheese and meat Selection and toast and a selection of jams and spreads.

I stayed up the hill in room number 3. Amazing location and view. Friendly staff but the unit was tired and not maintained. The main bed was on roller skates when you got on it and the fridge sounded like a native bird singing in the middle of the night. If I knew I would not have any wifi it would have been a deal breaker. Apparently some units have wifi and some don't. Mine was a "don't" What the hell is that all about? Its about units being privately owned and some owners being too cheap to offer wifi. If I was the hotel I think it would be part of the contract with the owner that wifi was in place and working. Watch out for Number 3!

Stayed on Room 15, a balcony unit. View from balcony was stunning and the bed was clean and comfortable. However, the hand basin was severely cracked and the cracks were filled with black.!!! There was a big stain on the carpet in the bedroom. Space between the toilet seat and shower was limited. Breakfast was included in the tariff but we didn't bother to stay. I would not recommend.

Great traditional pub with cold beers on tap. Ordered beer battered fish and one serve was big enough to feed 2 people. Warning if driving to opononi fill your car up in larger towns prior to arrival as fuel is expensive. The pub is right on the water and opononi is a beautiful town.

Ordered 4 pizza from the pub, they were terrible to eat and cost $27 each.Thick with t. paste n hardly anything on them. Pizza Hut is 100% better. Shame on the chief. You need a new one. I would recommend to everyone to stear clear of pizza from Opononi Hotel

Went to the hotel/pub for lunch. The place was rustic but cool, the staff were lovely, the menu was promising but the actual food was a disappointment 😞 It was a huge menu that sounded awesome but sadly was below par. Would recommend a smaller menu which is easier to do properly. Again the staff were great 😊

The hotel needs some TLC. However the meals were fabulous. More than anything else - the staff made us feel like family. Danced the evening away after a terrific dinner. Thanks so much. Crete the singer has a fabulous voice. I would love to stay again.

Good motel not fancy but comfortable and clean i booked the room with balcony across from the beach was awesome view small in size but good enough and private I enjoyed my stay would come again beds were comfortable as large people might have trouble fitting around the bathroom
