Very good location. The service is good. The breakfast is excellent. Parking is convenient but 1.5 euro per hour.

Well located hotel in the center of Opatija. The staff is very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, parking around the hotel is difficult and you should be careful to read the text about the different rooms (don't be fooled by the pictures). Very good breakfast and close to the beach.

It was outstanding hotel. The only thing I can comment on is the lack of parking spaces, the hotel had quite limited parking spaces and on the other hand, it is very difficult to find parking in the whole city of Opatija.

Like many of the other reviews, we had the same experience. The hotel room had no discernible air conditioning. The hotel staff couldn’t do anything about it. It is an old hotel. We opened the window at night to let in cooler air (thankfully we visited in late September so it was cooler) but the noise from outside was very loud and kept us up until about midnight. I cannot imagine staying at this hotel in the summer. It would be unbearable. The beds were extra firm so that also made it difficult to sleep. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

The location of this hotel is excellent with beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea from front-facing rooms, patio and ground level. With many choices, breakfast is wonderful and plentiful. Staff is courteous and kind. Rooms - at least the one I experienced- are spartan and small, a bit outdated, but serviceable. I had a wonderful tiny balcony I could step onto to view the sea and that was gorgeous. Linens were clean. Bed was acceptable but not incredibly comfortable. And the photos on the website do not reflect the room I stayed in. Mine was not nearly so posh. I was there with Gate 1 and the hotel was ok but not as nice as anticipated. But the town was pretty and I enjoyed my stay. Definitely no more than a three star.

Absolutely great hotel with excellent position and great staff - always helpful and professional and ready to assist. Hotel is highly recommended, especially because of its position, quality of its kitchen and people who work there. Highly recommended and always great choice for holidays. Thanks for everything :)

I think we must have gotten one of the unupdated rooms because they didn't look as bright and airy as the website photos show. you had two options to get to the lobby - the stairs OR the tiny slow elevator. Service was ok on the most part. Food was adequate Internet was okay. Rooms were small and dark. When we went it was humid and hot. Apparently, hotel does not turn on the AC until it's hotter. It was not pleasant sitting on the floor (trying to get cooler) and it was also a very uncomfortable sleep Showers were small Partner didn't like having the windows open as it was too noisy. i would definitely ask if AC will be on if you go

Upon arrival we we upgraded to a suite which had amazing views but was not huge, the decor and furniture was nice. If you want the views you would only really get this from the 4th and 5th floors. The location is near the front of the sea front but a bit of a walk to the nice bars the other end of Opatija, but this was not a problem. The food was good and can recommend the meal deal in the evening with buffet choices, the breakfast was good and value for money. The flaws were that the shower did not drain well and I maybe expected a bit more quirkiness from a design hotel, but was a good visit....considering how much it is.

A bit mixed. We had two rooms. One (twin) was larger, with a nice balcony (sea view) and everything worked. One (double) was small, no view, with a broken shower, dubious a/c. Both clean and presentable. Breakfast was reasonable buffet (though unpleasant auto mix “juice”). Location good - possible to walk everywhere (Volosko about 45min lovely walk along the sea front). No “beach front” as such but you can walk down the steps and swim off the rocks for free - or hire a deckchair etc. Only three parking spots (17 eur / day) - otherwise find a public bay somewhere on the big one way loop. Staff helpful, nice biscuits and lemon water in reception.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour, as others have identified is popuoar with your groups because of its value for money, breakfast at 8am is certainly a challenge. We were on floor 2 which didn't have a great view, and the air conditioning want functioning (and it was low 20s C so shouldn't have been a challenge). Other guests reported similar, c and we had to resort to opening doors/windows which brought a lot of noise into the rooms overnight. More worrying the fire plan on the back of the door in the room was of an entirely different hotel (the posher one across the road)

It’s a mass tourist hotel catering to large tour groups. Not sure why every tour group wants to depart at 8 am but this creates chaos at breakfast. Coffee is poor quality and breakfast is below par. Bumbling staff are friendly and helpful but not really efficient. The original room we were given was dreadful, we asked for a replacement only to be told they were full. Strange that rooms showed available on ***********! When we mentioned this we were given the opportunity to upgrade to a suite for an extra fee that we gladly paid. What a difference! space, superb view, long terrace balcony, coffee machine etc.well worth it. This completely altered our experience but unfortunately it is still a mass tourist hotel with poor breakfast.

Excellent breakfast from the terrace. Just sit and sip your coffee. I think this hotel has the best view on the sea. The jovial bartender discovered for us great gin (Carbon Gin - local treasure :-) . Rooms are modern and clean. Great place to stay for a few days.

If Tripadvisor had a "Good" rating between Average and Very Good, I would pick it for this hotel. The location is good, near lots of shopping, restaurants, and an easy walk along the shore to most of the nice places in Opatija. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and its facilities, however, were a bit on the worn-out side. The Air Conditioning control in our room (301) was a complex mess. Not only did it have numerous sliders, switches, and dials, but the markings were largely worn off the plastic, so it was a guessing game to figure out what they were for. After struggling with it for a while, I called the desk and someone came to help me get it working. They set the switches and sliders and dials so that it should have come on, but it didn't. After working on it for a while, we discovered that rattling the door out to the balcony would make it work. Like many of these systems, it would shout off if the door was open. However, the old door didn't fit all that well in the old frame, so the switch was inconsistent. Second problem: The in-room safe had no instructions. It just had a number pad that looked like a telephone pad. No "lock" or "reset" buttons. I tried putting in a code then hitting "#" or "*", but the display just said "ERROR". I tried a lot of different things, but nothing worked. I called the desk, and someone came up to help. Turned out that they didn't know how the safe worked either. Some hours later, I decided to try a 6-digit code (followed by "#"), and it worked! No points to the hotel on making the safe a useful feature of the room, though. Bottom line: Adequate but dated room, good service, good location.
