I would like to give a top grade to Beacon hotel. it is on the second floor of Onomichi station. This time we was upgrade to a very cozy family room. we are very happy to see that is a simple kitchen. We were on bicycle travel from Imabari. Our luggage was sent to the room before we check in. Staffs are all very kind and easy communicate. Only heard one time train pass by after we slept. Bed is large and very comfortable. Very new hotel. Highly recommend!

Fantastic room with amazing and brand new decoration. Hotel was opened in July of 2022 and the facilities are just amazing, and in excellent conditions. The staff is extremely professional , very attentive , communicating in English. The location is very privileged, just above the Onomichi train station. Breakfast is a state of art , with the food coming in a bento in a perfect portion. There are capsule coffee in the room . Onsen is extra 2500 yen for one hour . The hotel is just one of the best surprises in my trip and fully worth staying a day or two there. If you want to ride to shimanami kaido this hotel is perfect location.

The location is super convenient, on the second floor of Onomichi Station. The total number of rooms is very small, which may be why I cannot book this hotel on other platforms. The washbasin in the room is a bit low, and it is outside the bathroom. The movement and height are not used to it. The room design is lovely, you can overlook the entire harbor from the window, and there is also a raised tatami seating area~ There is a 7-11 downstairs. Although it is not 24 hours a day, it is very convenient~

Please note that there is a step at the door of Standard Double Room 214. Road bike bags cannot be dragged into the room. This design is really strange. Pajamas are very comfortable

We came to ride the Shimanami Kaido. We brought our own road bike and booked a standard double room in this hotel. However, please note that there is a step at the door of room 214. You can see the picture. You cannot drag your car bag in. When placed in the room, the space in the room is not large, and there is a lot of furniture placed there, making it difficult to open the suitcase. Very dissatisfied Other services are very good. It is located on the second floor of the station. The breakfast is also rich and delicious, and the dishes change every day.

This is a very nice hotel, located just above Onomichi Station. The breakfast is a Western set meal. The hotel is stylishly designed, and the rooms are well equipped, including a capsule coffee machine.

I was very satisfied with my stay. There are various convenience stores, noodle shops, and donuts downstairs. The hotel is also very private and very quiet.

It's new, has a great design, and has become a great memory. thank you very much. I made my favorite coffee in my Nespresso coffee maker, laid down with my friends and watched images shot with a projector, and watched movies late into the night. It was a wonderful memory. A compact, spacious, and playful hotel! Best of all, it's safe because it's directly connected to the station platform!

Our double rooms were too small, there was absolutely no floor space or to have luggage. Also, many things in the room are really impractical, such as the height and size of the mirror (you have to crouch down to use it), that no space to hang the towel at the sink and so on. The shower had a good size, though. Our room was filled with the odour of french fries and food during the evening/night, even with locked windows, which was really uncomfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect for cycling the trail, however, in comparison to the other hotels we stayed in in Japan, we were least satisfied with this one, even it looked stylish and was new. On the other hand, there was very little choice of hotels in Onomichi, so you might not have a choice than book this.

This is a wonderful hotel, unfortunately we were put into the smallest room, one that was so small and filled with unusable furniture that there was no space for one guest let alone two. Getting around meant one person had to stay on the bed while the other crawled to the sink or shower room. The room was so tiny that staying in it was a constant source of tension, the kind of tension that can ruin a vacation. It was so small, it was almost impossible to step into the room and move aside so you could close the door behind you. There is a similar problem maneuvering into the shower. So if you want to stay in this hotel definitely ask not to be put in room 214. It's torture. Management would do well to remove the bed, the nightstand, the chair (which cannot be used because it has to be crammed so close to the small bed), and the small table next to the chair that also cannot be used. Replace the furniture with tatami, futons and a couple of pads to sit on. Now, moving on from the agitation of being sentenced to Room 214, this hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel and the Onomichi train station share the same building -- a brand new building -- so as soon as you step off the train, you're at your hotel. Also, the building is completely soundproof. You will not hear or feel trains rumbling by or any noise from the bus and car traffic from in front of the hotel. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, not just high ceilings but vaulted ceilings, which I'm sure would have felt luxurious had we not been stuck in Room 214. The rooms also have high windows that give you a lot of ambient light and, I'm sure, great views from some of the rooms. Before being pointed to your room, you are brought to an amenity counter and allowed to take as many packets of luxury face washes, night creams and other cosmetics as you desire. A N'espresso machine and coffee capsules await you in your room. Once again, this is a wonderfully charming and modern hotel in a wonderfully charming and funky city. We plan to return to Onomichi when it is not so hot -- and stay in this hotel. But we'll ask for a larger room.

Probably it would be called a hip place, located on the updated train station. It is new and beautiful except it is very small. We had two suitcases and two backpack and we could open one of them in the room each time we need to grab something from our luggages. The bathroom was updated but there was no sink so we had to use the tiny tiny sink at the small kitchen. The breakfast looked very fancy but the taste was less than mediocre. This hotel is extremely expensive on the amenities they could offer to the guests.

There were some aspects that made things a little difficult, such as not having any spare blankets.

The room was very clean and every corner was clean and comfortable. The room wasn't very large, but it was bright and sunny, and there was an espresso machine in the room, so it was a comfortable stay. Especially the loungewear, the design and comfort of which were excellent. I still want to use it. Since it's on the second floor of the station, those staying by car would have to find a private parking spot somewhere, which was the only inconvenience, but overall it was perfect.
