Hotel in the same parking lot (free) as the ibis styles. A very warm welcome, a renovated hotel. Comfortable room. Prefer those that are quiet (the highway is close). Good breakfast Always good bedding. Friendly staff.

This was the kind of experience one recounts with hushed tones and shivers to faces aghast. The bathroom - the room where one attempts to become clean in spite of the mouldy shower curtain and inhabited cracks - is a horror show. It's like a portaloo sprouted a showerhead. It's impossible to take a shower without kicking the toilet on the way out. Speaking of which, I don't want to know what the stains on the toilet are. There is hot water, but you must choose between scalding or freezing. No need to use it though; there's no point. The room doesn't seem to have been cleaned since the hotel opened. The sheets are ripped and a health hazard. Towels are pre-stained. Oh, and the doors and windows don't close properly. And I'm pretty sure we got a good room. Flee.

Personnel très agréable et sympathique,on ressent un hôtel vieillissant qui a une certaine époque étant très bien, chambre donnant côté rue donc bruyante et ainsi que la cage d’escalier et porte donc du bruit jusqu’à presque 3h du matin. La literie était récente mais à mon goût très dure mais doit convenir à d’autres clients . La fenêtre de droite était fissurée et le volet de gauche cassé. Chambre et salle de bain propre mais cette dernière n’avait pas de quoi poser une trousse de toilette . Il n’y a qu’une table de chevet . Par contre il y a une couverture supplémentaire et oreillers . La Clim était récente mais plus petite que l’ancienne et pas repeint autour . L’endroit reste très pratique pour visiter sanary. Le prix très correct mais pour moi cela reste une mauvaise nuit .

Unbelievably disappointed with this hotel and a majority of its staff. We experienced a tragic void of cleanliness, professionalism and hospitality during our entire stay at the Mercure Hotel in Toulon, France. Unfortunately, our fruitless attempts to resolve these issues directly with on-site management (which does not exist) and corporate personnel (impossible to contact) leave us feeling violated of our dignity and robbed of our time and money. We hope the following information will help others in the future, including travelers, hospitality staff, Sébastien Bazin, Gilles Pélisson, and the like. CLEANLINESS: Upon our arrival, we could literally see dust and dirt on all of the shelves, counter tops, balconies and floors of the hotel and room. Even the carpet in the room was so dirty it stained the bottom of our clean socks. The toilet room smelled bad, like, well, a used toilet. We politely asked for it to be cleaned, however, no one ever came, not even to freshen up the room at any point during our stay. COMFORT: The air conditioning did not work in our room, ever. When we spoke to the front desk staff about the sweltering temperature of 90 degrees F in our room (even though the thermostat read 16 C) and were informed to “leave the room for awhile to let it work”. We left at 3:30PM and returned at 11PM to a less sweltering temperature of 85 degrees F in our room. We asked staff member available, Alexi/Alex at the front desk, if he could fix the thermostat. He begrudgingly came to take a look and was profusely sweating after one minute in the room. He could not turn on the air conditioning even though the thermostat read the same 16C. He said we could open the window, but that would just let in the bugs in and turn off the air completely. He also suggested we leave the room to wait 15 minutes for it to turn on…? Given that that strategy did not work when suggested earlier, we asked for a different room with working air conditioning. He laughed at us and said no because it would not make his manager happy. We said we would happily speak to the manager about the issue and he laughed again, said no, and stated management is not available on the weekends. We then asked for some sort of a solution and Alexi/Alex appeared annoyed and said “there is nothing to be done” and that he had to get back to his “other duties” at the hotel. Turns out it was actually the end of his shift and he did not want to stay any longer that his end time to deal with this problem. We noted that the sheets and bedding were surprisingly all polyester, which doesn’t breathe like cotton, and acts like a heat conductor and made it more difficult to achieve sleep. He laughed again and said all the rooms are the same and there is nothing to be done. We went back to the front desk to ask for help from the next staff member and found that the only person available was a very kind, intelligent security guard named Cherkre(sp?). We were lured by the descriptions on the hotel website into paying an eye-watering price for a ‘deluxe’ suite at La Farandole, expecting it to be the highlight of our long-awaited 20th anniversary roadtrip. Sadly, it was the worst four days of our vacation. The only luxurious thing about this suite was the view. Everything else was a 3-Star standard at best. The hotel is situated at the end of a quiet beach with stunning sea views and a nice-looking pool but the property has many serious defects and problems. Strangely, the door to our suite shared a foyer with the staff entrance to a noisy kitchen and storeroom. Our ‘private’ terrace was not attached to our suite as implied on the website. Instead, there is a separate rooftop terrace that can be booked by guests. The suite itself has only a tiny balcony with two chairs and a table. We had access to the private roof terrace and jacuzzi but the stairwell is locked - ‘for staff use only’ so we had to take a slow elevator to the roof each time. This meant an awkward wait in the public corridor outside the restaurant. The water in the jacuzzi was filthy with dead insects and yellow foam. It was only cleaned on our third day. The worst problem was the nasty sewage smell in our suite. We reported it several times to the manager because the smell kept us awake at night. It was only fixed on our third day (with many apologies) and the installation of an air-freshener. The other issues were minor but collectively annoying. The bed was cheap and basic with small lumpy pillows and a bedsheet that did not fit properly. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The bathroom and shower were good quality but there were no ‘luxury’ amenities as promised in the marketing - there was a cheap hair-dryer attached to the wall that kept cutting out. The wifi did not work in our room and the unit was eventually replaced by the manager (with more apologies), but only after a rude technician kept insisting it was a problem with our own ‘foreign’ devices. There was a coffee maker and a small mini-bar in the wardrobe but nowhere to store any wine or snacks. We received a complementary bottle of mineral water every second day but they forgot to replenish our glasses and the phone to reception was rarely answered, which meant frequent trips to the front desk. The reception staff were friendly and kind and clearly hardworking. They were very apologetic about the many problems we encountered but unable to do anything about our room or price. Housekeeping was sporadic and we had to go hunting for pool towels to use on the terrace. These were not changed for the full duration of our stay. The sun-beds on the terrace were dirty and in disrepair, with bits of old scratchy velcro where the pillows had once been. Choose this hotel in the center of the tourist hotspot. It is convenient to know that when you stay at this hotel, you have observed that the whole environment has just been renovated and clean. Gorgeous old French villa done up to a contemporary hotel. Set right beside the shoreline with sensational views of the ocean and coastal scenery and walking distance to quaint restaurants, cafes, and bars. The hotel offers sumptuous Spa (massages and treatments) and indoor and outdoor pool and a good bar/restaurant/cafe if you prefer eating onsite.

This is the 2th eme we come and this hotel meets our expectations: a very good location in the centre of the bandol, a location for the car included in the price what is not negligible, a very good litter. We also liked the large 20 m2 room, with kitchen corner and its nespresso machine , the kindness of staff that as soon as he can overclass it ( we were overclassed 2 times) without forgeting a beautiful terrace with view of the port , The winter side is surprising at the first floor but makes the place warm

Unfortunately, a newly renovated house, which is still very well equipped, which is very attractive and that is also, meets absolutely incapable staff. Maybe they had a long season.... On the arrival day we could not book a table for dinner at 17.40 at the same day (we had a 9-hour trip behind us). Later we asked again for the next evening. We then received a pledge for the next evening at 19.45. Unfortunately, we did not get the table in the restaurant next night, because the lady from the reception, which was there on the other hand, was also there on the second night, but, as all the others, she was discharged from the staff, didn't remember anything.... It was a good idea to get us to the team and to the guests (which is probably working per employee and not per guest). Our advantage was that we had already paid at the arrival and could prove that. The situation was not only bad, but also skurril. It was particularly bad that our children made the statement (filial 7Jahre) ”she is happy to come back here”. We had no longer a bit of dinner there. And we looked for something else again.
