My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the Tambo de Ollantay in May 2024. It's an inexpensive hotel with simple rooms and minimal furnishings. It's close to the railroad station in Ollantaytambo, which is why we stayed there. There are better hotels in Ollantaytambo, but this place is acceptable for simple overnight accommodation.

The rooms have extremely thin walls, doors that vibrate with any wind and there was no care on the part of the staff not to make noise at 11:40 pm. The room is small, the bathroom is tiny, so much so that when I walked in early in the morning I hit my hand on the drain and when I went to put my hand on my hand for extinguishing, I hit my hand on the sink - ridiculous, but real. Room next to the kitchen and reception, with noise from people coming and going constantly. The photos do not show the reality.

Very good service, as the train left very early: they gave us breakfast to take away and it was ready at 4am. It is an affordable hostel, the cost/service ratio is excellent. The hostel's breakfast is hearty, with bread, free-range eggs, butter and fresh jam. Very good location as it is 4 minutes from the train station and around the corner from the main square.
