Guesthouse Jelenov Greben

We stayed in an apartment for 4 people. We knew the apartment was not new but we were shocked when we saw the actual state of it. Look at the photos, they speak for themselves. The owner was very aloof and didn’t care at all about our complaints, the reception staff was unprofessional and making us feel like we where a bunch of weirdos for not wanting to stay in a run down prehistoric room. The wellness is old and in need of renovation. The breakfast was ok. We ended up staying 1 night and then we left. Skip this place, there are much nicer places nearby for half the price.

Fantastic. Being in direct contact with deer is an extraordinary experience. Beautiful animals and place. Excellent panna cotta and cheesecake.

Rude, unexpereinced and nervous waiters, mediocre food and high prices. Terrible reception and dishes served cold, if even served at all. Waited over an hour for food, which did not come at all. Scenery is nice but I recommend eating at any other local restaurant nearby! Attached is a photo of everything we got, titled in menu as “soup with carrots”.

Beautiful place . Scenery , animals, food , service.. pretty damn good. We did not stay in the apartments , so can’t be the judge. The restaurant however serves great food , and the local wine is not bad . We visit them once a year as we go to the spa near by and always drop in for a meal.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WHEN VISIT WELLNESS LARA ON JELENOV GRIČ. The facility in which the wellness center is located is really outdated and poorly maintained. Let me point out: extremely unmaintained...dirty, ruined, no employee support...dangerous for users...unusable shower - cold water... mold on the walls

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, my partner gave me a gift voucher Wellness package - RELAX with a gala dinner / 2 people / 2 days’ worth 250€ (he knew I liked Jelenov greben). When we arrived, at the reception asked us if they could delay massages for 10 minutes, despite the fact that they were not flexible about the hours of the massage when we booked, and we agreed. The massage was delayed not by 10 minutes but by 30 minutes. The room was in extremely poor condition, a miniature room with a crumbling balcony, with old furniture. At 7pm we're going to a restaurant for dinner. We approach the weather and say that we have dinner reservation, and he didn't know anything. I show him the ticket from the reception and waiter say aaa ok go outside on the terrace on the right you can sit down, the table is ready. The table was really prepared but with dirty tablecloths, food crumbs and a terrible placemat look like children-placemat - with paper cake bases. I make my notice to the waiter that serves us and he only replace one of two tablecloths (like he did’t care). When he brings us the menus, I tell him that we have already pre order a five-course dinner. He just turns around and went back inside. Comes back with some poor candle and says mockingly “your dinner is by candlelight”. Downstairs bellow the terrace was a wedding, children on playgrounds and the terrace was full of people, there was a lot of noise... nothing from a romantic candlelight dinner that my partner planned for us. Disaster and unprofessional. When we fell a sleep all the sudden bum bum bum and going on all night running up the wooden stairs, rattling the door, shouting,… Next morning, we went all tired on breakfast and I saw cold slices from night before from the wedding. What?! When I make complain about all this at check-out at the reception, the lady says to me, I apologize, we had wedding. So what?! Then don't make a this kind of reservations for other guests?! I always like coming back to Jelenov greben and I also recommend it to others, but unfortunately now I know that you are not capable more than just serving drinks and make the attraction of feeding deer. I travel a lot but that was my worst experience ever... never again
