Niyama Private Islands Maldives

We had the best time in Niyama. Every detail was well managed. Islands are beautiful. Waves are great and consistent. Food is very good and there are plenty of options. Dinning at the Edge and Nest was so good. Everything we needed was warmly provided by our Thakuru, Gia. We are dreaming about coming back!

Niyama takes your breath away! It definitely has the wow factor. We stayed in the water villa which was just mind blowing. The view is spectacular, the jungle roads are beautiful and we really enjoyed Tribal and The Net restaurants. Faru was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable - thank you very much for being very responsive to all our needs. This was our first trip to the Maldives and I cannot wait to come back to experience it again.

Fantastic place! Beautiful area, nice villa, great service, delicious food, lots of fun activities for adults and kids. It is very kid friendly since the dining areas are by the beach. They also have a great buffet dinner every day that the kids love.

Everyone in Niyama is out to make our stay a memorable one. We can’t find a sub-par serving crew, nor any major areas for improvements. We’ve dropped many other shortlisted options for Niyama after realising this would be 10 years since we last visited Maldives. And Niyama back then only got a 4-star from me, perhaps because they’re still new. We’d hoped for improvements and they didn’t disappoint this time. We chose a different room type this round and we love it. It’s been perhaps recently renovated. Spacious, new and modern furnishings, almost too big a space in the bathroom, and overall nicely decorated and clean. We chose the Fullboard option and had too much to eat the entire trip. For the fussy eater, they’re always ready to whip up a meal specially for you. Sightings of animals in nature is an important KPI for me this trip as I’d like my child (now 14yo) to experience that with us. We didn’t get to spot many last trip when my child was only 4yo. So besides sea turtles which we didn’t get to spot during our choppy snorkel trip, we pretty much saw what we’ve hoped for right on the island. Just to name a few: Numerous black tips up close, “rounded” rays, “triangular” rays (baby manta?), puffer fish, box fish, schools of various types of fishes, squid, “needle” fish, sea cucumbers, loads of crabs and hermit crabs, flying foxes/fruit bats, heron, etc. I’ve specifically shortlisted resorts that provide bicycles for guests and we love to be able to cycle around the island to explore at our own pace. Weather this time round was more stormy compared to our last few trips to Maldives. Climate change is real. We’ve always travelled between May-July but had more sunny days previously. This trip was about 50/50 sun and rain but it didn’t bother us much since the times it rained or was stormy, we’re done with our activities and back in our pavilion. The slightly overcast skies when it wasn’t raining also meant we didn’t get too sunburn. Our only hesitation when I think of returning to Niyama is the seaplane ride… 10yrs back, we chose it for my then 4yo child to experience it. This time too, since he didn’t have much recollection of the ride back then. I didn’t enjoy it. I’d thought it would be a direct stop at Niyama like the last round but it’s not. We had to stopover at another island before arriving at Niyama. And upon arriving at Niyama, we didn’t get to land straight at the jetty like the last time (platform was destroyed during a recent storm) and had to land on a floating platform in the middle of the sea (more bobbing after the bobbing seaplane ride) before a speedboat took us to Niyama jetty. Vice versa for the ride back. So yep. Some phobia to overcome here, for someone with chronic giddiness issues. So perhaps domestic flight will be an option next time, assuming we won’t spend much more time transiting for flights etc. Hospitality is tops as expected from all the reviews here - not overly formal-luxurious, but friendly and w

The experience was incredible. The service is above our expectations!!!! The hotel , the beach , the staff . Especially coconut guy , was bringing us fresh coconuts every day to our door step !!!! Yulia was taking care of us 24/7. Thank you so much . We will be back again

Niyama is paradise. We came as a family of 4 with young kids. We all needed time as a family to be taken care of, take a step back from the hustle of the world, and re connect. It went beyond all our wildest dreams because of the staff. The villas were wonderful, the beaches pristine, the food was delicious, yes. But it was the staff that welcomed us with open hearts, played with our children, and made us feel truly cared for that really made the luxury difference. I’ll also add the following amazing experiences that really elevated our stay: Family SUP yoga with Emily Moak; spa experiences with therapist May and nurse Arun combined with direction Kannan ensuring our children felt pampered also; our Thakuru Aly taking care of our every need; Shushan giving a non-intimidating introduction to surfing for me and our 6 year old; chef Pradeep for amazing food and kindness; Raufa and the kids club for above and beyond experiences at kids club (including dolphin watching!); and Imran the coconut man for teaching our kids about nature, letting them plant coconut trees, and making us feel like family. We are not normally a “resort family”. We prefer adventure travel, cultural experiences, and are constantly on the go. We were quite nervous that we would get bored in 10 days on an island, but we were so, so wrong. It’s truly the perfect combination of chill and play, and we will be returning to Niyama for years to come.

Niyama Resort in the Maldives was an exceptional experience. The two islands are beautifully lush with tall palms and pristine beaches. The dining options, like Tribal and Nest, provided impressive culinary experiences. The underwater restaurant, SUBSIX, was visually stunning. The villa was spacious, well-designed, and offered excellent sleep quality with its ability to block out light completely. What stood out the most was our personal assistant, Yulia. Her attention to detail, enthusiasm for the resort, and genuine hospitality were truly outstanding - among the best service I've encountered in the Maldives. Niyama is a paradise, and Yulia exemplified the resort's commitment to excellence. Also shoutout to Haudy at the airport, Anne and Subira at the restaurants for their genuine service.
