We had an amazing stay at Six Senses Laamu – an absolutely stunning resort surrounded by nature. The island is quite large, offering plenty of space to explore, and the house reef is simply breathtaking! The food was excellent, with a great variety of high-quality dishes, and the spa experience was truly relaxing. The villas are spacious and beautifully designed in the signature Soneva style, blending luxury with a natural touch. A special mention and huge compliments to Fahudh, Amaan, and Yaamin – their outstanding service made our stay unforgettable. Rarely have we experienced such a dedicated and professional team! We are already looking forward to returning – keep up the great work!

Wow - it was our first time to the Maldives and our first Six Senses stay. We expect a lot, but we were still blown away with by our week. We were a little worried that there may not be enough to do given the size of the island and resort, but very much ended up with not enough time to do everything we were interested in, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was phenomenal, as were the rest of the resorts facilities. The food was amazing every night, and the level of service from the staff was often above and beyond. We particularly enjoyed the Spa, where the treatment rooms were partially outside, and the snorkeling along the house reef and in the various sea grass patches allowed us to see turtles and manta rays, alongside the plethora of the other sea life. We will definitely be back one day!

What an amazing resort! This six senses has everything: beautiful marinel life, nice weather, excellent food and amazing wines (I am a foodie!), enough activities and more that enough f&b locations to stay 9-14 days. And the staff is incredible. From housekeeping, marine life staff, the sommelier, to the people working at at the f&b, everybody is absolutely amazing (and hard working). Every guest is appointed a GEM (guest expert manager), as we are used to at other six senses locations. Our GEM, aka Riq, was the best host you could have: always there when you need him, helps you out with every booking/request and always with a genuine big smile. We left very early (5.30) and even then he is there to help you out. So Riq, if you are reading this: thank you for making our trip memorable. We are definitely coming back!

This was my 7th trip to the maldives, and it's hard to argue against it being the best yet! Six senses just checks all the boxes of the idyllic desert island holiday. I could write about the superb rooms and the excellent service and the fine dining quality food served at every meal (special shout out to the team at Zen). But to be honest all that was to be expected from the hotel. What I loved about this place is the special care about the environment and the environmentally conscious programs run by the team. In this day and age the uneducated and uncontrolled tourism becomes the threat and it is lovely to see the initiatives by the team at six senses. The GEMs at the hotel make everything easy and are there on call to answer any need (thank you Daniel) We loved our stay here and already yearn to go back.

Six Senses really do make your experience a relaxed and memorable one. The quality of customer service is exemplary. We were looked after extremely well with unobtrusive but thoughtful attention from our contact Riq. He would always ensure we were aware of activities and events and was responsive in making any last minute changes. If you are looking for an understated luxury experience in stunningly beautiful surroundings then we wound highly recommend Laamu.

We have been to a multitude of islands in the Maldives and else but Laamu - Olhuveli/ Six Senses captured us with the exceptional diversity of the marine life at our fingertips. We stayed in the water villa and got daily greetings by gorgeous fish, turtles, sting rays of all kinds, right below our villa in the beauteous grassy meadows of the ocean grotto. The nearby house reef was very nice, as well. Alas, one of the negative experiences there was, when we saw a host diver accompanying the guests on their first diving experience. They were damaging the pretty corals by not tending carefully to their anchoring rope/weight paraphernalia. Given the alleged high standards of the resort and their aim to protect the reef, this was disappointing and heart-breaking. On a positive note, our GEM, Daniel, is a true ‘gem’ of everlasting authentic smile and endless hospitality. Nothing was impossible for him to arrange for us, even at a very short notice. This ‘gem’ of a person made up for other shortcomings of the overall service and the feel at Six Senses. Thank you, Daniel!!

My family and I returned to the resort for Thanksgiving of 2024 after over a decade since our first visit. Due to Six Senses’ eco-friendly and conscious practices, the encounters you will have with the marine wildlife that call the resort home are just unbeatable. We saw rays, turtles, dolphins, and plenty of reef fish. Best of all, we were lucky enough to witness a daytime green sea turtle hatching that we’ll always remember. Stephanie, our GEM, took such amazing care of us and recalled our preferences from the past to make us feel right at home. Honestly, it would be great if we could just have her with us at every single resort. The only thing that had deterred us from a repeat visit was the uncertainty that a second trip would top the first one, but it did. Not sure if it would be possible to top this one, but we can hope!

My family stayed at 6 senses Laamu in December 2024 for 8 nights. This was our first trip to the Maldives. We choose laamu 1) for the direct sea plane transfer even though it’s 1 hour 2) ease to access a quality house reef 3) quality of food reputation 4) reputation of 6 senses generally re kids club 5) its reputation for laid back sophistication. The experience lived up on all those fronts and I would make additional mention of the kids club which is not well presented on the web page. The kids club appears quite small and ordinary on the outside, at first glance, but there is an excellent weekly programme which would suit many ages - including for our almost 5 year old. After 1 hour accompanying her on day 1 of our stay, our daughter was so engaged in their programme she wanted to stay all day - every day. The kids club staff were amazing. Considerate, educated, child focussed. In the evenings the hotel was putting on children’s evening cinema and buffet - which our daughter also joined giving us a few evenings to have dinner confident she was enjoying her time. There is a very impressive marine centre and earth centre both of which the kids club use as part of their education programme. I congratulate the kids club team for what they have achieved here and how well it works for parents visiting with young children - special call out to “Knee” who was especially fabulous. Other quick comments - the airport sea plane transit lounge was very good - albeit we only had a 30 min wait. The GEM (we had Shihan) supporting us were amazing and went over and above - even making a little wooden bed for our daughters cuddly toy - where else does this happen ?. The ice cream is fabulous - and complimentary. It’s very well suited for walkers and cycling about. The sand around the island is cleaned almost continually - it’s immaculate and I would say it’s almost unnecessary but there are occasional plastics washing up on the beach - this is not a Laamu issue but a challenge I imagine across the Maldives from passing boats etc. Overall excellent and relaxing. We hope to return one day.
