Aquamar Albufeira Aparthotel

We stayed for four nights in August 2024. We were warmly greeted by José and Karun. Both were very friendly and professional. A credit to Aqua Mar. All the relevant information - including reception, gym and snack bar opening hours, security codes - were provided, written down, in English. The apartment was clean, well maintained and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard. The two swimming pools and the surrounding area were clean and well maintained. Both pools are 1.6m deep - with no shallow end. Pool inflatables are allowed.

The perfect Apartment to stay for my son’s first holiday. Thank you Jose for making us feel welcome from the start. The rooms are spacious, homely and very clean. Lovely location great for families very close to the beach, cleanest apartment we have ever stayed in, very comfortable beds, well equipped, friendly helpful staff, great value for money. Felt a very safe resort with everything you need close by.

Comparing to other hotels nearby, this one is a cosy quiet family run place with very spacious clean rooms, white crispy sheets, selection of pillows, duvets/blankets. Ample free parking lot nearby, just bear in mind it is slightly downhill, so walking up with suitcases might be a struggle. Although there are only two floors in the building, there is a lift. Exceptional customer service, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely and spacious pool area, pool towels can be obtained at reception for 2EUR. We had a massage while staying there (arranged by reception) and that was great too. Just for the information for the future guests - there is no dishwasher and no washing machine in the apartments, although it wasn't an issue for us, it is helpful to know. There is no direct access to the pool area from the ground floor rooms with the pool view. The gym is quite a small room equipped with a treadmill, an exercise bike, a bench and a few dumbbells and it can only be used by one/two persons at a time, so requires booking. We didn't like the idea of using the sheets instead of duvet cover to cover the duvet. And we didn't like the proximity of the high street with bars and restaurants, although, it would be beneficial for others, we realised that we prefer a tranquil location. Most of the nights during the week we stayed there, we could hear music coming from a bar until late at night, although with the windows shut, it was ok.

Just returned from a 5 day break here for the first time and it could not have been better. The apartment was huge, very clean and welcoming, the beds were really comfortable and the location is perfect. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It is a lovely quiet hotel which could have been due to the time of year, however I feel that is always has that peaceful vibe about it. Could not recommend it more and will definitely come back! So close to the beach and lovely bars and restaurants. The only thing that may be an issue to some people is that the bar closed at 5.30pm however that could be due to it being out of season and very quiet which we completely understood. Reasonably priced drinks and cheap snack bar menu.

We have been to the aquamar many times and it never disappoints. Paulo and Jose are so helpful. Apartments are in a great location, very spacious, spotlessly clean and great facilities. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
