This hotel, close to lake Maggiore, and 5 minutes from little Arona, consists of 3 separate buildings. Based on a property owned by the family who runs it, they have a castle build in the XIX century in neo gothic style, a (former) stables pavilion and a building they call Palazzo which is an enlarged mansion probably also from the XIX century. The 3 buildings hold the rooms of the hotel and are in walking distance. The. Public areas of the castle are used for social or corporate events although they also have a large convention hall in the Palazzo. A contemporary addition is the large pool and pool house. Both surrounded by gardens. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful English garden with view, at distance, of Lake Maggiore. We had an Executive Suite. Very ample in space with a generous bathroom, good AC and WIFI. Our suite was in the stables pavilion. They also have suites in the Palazzo and open plan Junior suites in the castle. The whole property is furnished with good taste and has interesting antic elements. Staff is very kind. And well trained. They have 3 restaurants. One formal in the Palazzo, one casual in the garden of the castle and a simple one on the pool building. Breakfast is served buffet style with excellent choices and everything fresh and of good quality. The food at all restaurants is very good. When it comes to choose a room location the most practical are at the Palazzo. The most authentic ones are at the Castle. The more spartan ones are at the Stables. The Palazzo and the Castle have an elegant decoration and furnitures, the Stables Pavilion have a more simple modern and not as elegant furnitures.
