Review of the stay in August 2025 – group of 12 people (3 families with children aged 8–13) The hotel has great potential, but unfortunately, it remains largely untapped. The property is small and intimate, with most rooms offering a stunning sea view – one of its undeniable advantages. Rooms are clean and regularly serviced, and the food – typical for hotels in Turkey or Egypt – is good and varied enough for everyone to find something to their liking. Unfortunately, that’s where the strengths end. The number of sunbeds by the pool is far from sufficient for the number of guests. Illegal “reservations” are made overnight, and unless you get up at 6 a.m., you will hardly find a spot by the pool – which is particularly inconvenient when children spend most of the day there, and parents want to keep an eye on them. The hotel management does not address this issue. Another major drawback is the very poor command of English and German among the staff, including at the reception – which is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Evenings are far from peaceful, as loud music from nearby hotels plays until around 1 a.m., making it difficult to fall asleep. Daytime and evening animations are weak. The mini-club staff often seemed to avoid engaging with the children, appearing more interested in selling T-shirts than in providing care. Additionally, the loud, thumping music at the pool is unbearable for most of the day – only during lunch hours does it briefly quiet down. The drinks (apart from beer) are very poor, likely due to the bartenders’ lack of experience in preparing alcoholic beverages. The surrounding area offers little in terms of attractions – the only point of interest is a nearby bazaar. The lack of a promenade or other evening activities meant we ended up spending most evenings in the hotel lobby, which was far from entertaining for both us and our growing children. In summary: this hotel could be a great place for a family holiday if it were better managed, improved its poolside policy, upgraded its animation program, and strengthened staff language skills. At present, however, it is hard to recommend to those seeking a well-organized and relaxing stay.

It was everything we expected, but something was missing for it to be a 5-star review. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, and there was a good variety every day, so everyone could find something they liked. The beach was also very clean, and the sea was pleasantly warm and crystal clear. The bartenders were absolute legends — some of the best we’ve ever met. However, the animation team and entertainment program were a bit disappointing. It’s true that we spent most of our time on the beach, so we didn’t really know what was happening at the pool during the day, but overall the activities didn’t impress us. After dinner, there was a mini disco and sometimes a short animation program, but most of the evening was just free dancing. You could ask the DJ to play songs, but there wasn’t much else going on. All in all, it was a very good stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel — especially for those who don’t mind a more relaxed nightlife.

Staying at this moment at the hotel. Hotel isn't dealing properly with drunk agressive guests. Front-office manager is lying through his teeth en trying to cover the situation up. Food can be better. Waiters are very friendly. ----------

Hotel is "nur für Deutsch" for Germans only. Staff mostly speaks Deutsch, just a very few of them speaks English, but they are trying to sort all of your neediness. All animations(if there are any) created for retirees Germans. Hotel is very peaceful and if someone like peace than this will be perfect choice. Animations are very poor! Food ok. Additionally if you are not German you won't get room with good view, so all low levels of this hotel are for other nationals, Germans get top levels whit beautiful view on sea... Additionally there is a difference in standards between these rooms, so unfair treatment... Won't go again.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Lycus Beach. I noticed a lot of improvements on issues some guests had commented on in past reviews: my room was obviously recently renovated, everything was in good condition and tastefully decorated. Air conditioning worked perfectly and very quietly. All the rooms now have showers, mine was a largish walk-in, barrier-free style. I had a double room for single use on the 6th floor (603), as I had requested. Wifi router directly in my room, very good reception, no issues at all with connections. Ümmühan, the maid who looked after my room was extremely helpful with a special request of mine, as was her superior, Teslime. The room was a bit bright for me in the early morning, and these two ladies came to my rescue. Thanks! There is a nicely equipped fitness room overlooking the garden and beach. The distance from the pool to the beach is bout 200 meters, along path also suitable for wheelchairs. There's a theater for shows (booked entertainers on alternating nights), and multiple bars and snacks throughout the day. All the food was very good, well-seasoned and fresh. Great salad buffets and definitely no cases of indigestion! Very tempting cakes, puddings and often fresh fruit salad. Everything tastes just as good as it looks, which isn't always the case in some other hotels. This is a medium-sized mid-luxury resort with a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The staff all had a moment to chat with the mostly German guests. I didn't encounter any raucous drinking or unruly conduct during my whole stay. None of the staff was less than polite and professional, but Hanife, the guest relations manager is a superstar in taking care of everything and everyone. She even came back after work to bring me a charging cable for my tablet (I had left mine at home). Many thanks also to Mesut who rules the restaurant with an iron hand for efficiency, a smile and a good heart. Özge is the in-house tattoo artist, and as creative as she is friendly, never pushy. I heard only good about the spa; use of the sauna and Turkish bath is free, and the massages/treatments were highly acclaimed. You'll find more than enough shops for typical tourist shopping and souvenirs in the nearby Bazaar, but I chose to get a local bus just in front of it to Manavgat (25 minutes, 60 TL) for a bit of a normal town. Alanya is a bit further in the opposite direction. Both cities offer many possibilities to travel further for the so-inclined. All in all I had a very pleasant stay and can certainly warmly recommend this hotel. BTW: There is no horribly rude woman making gözleme - a lot of the guests who had read about her in one unhappy traveller's review were almost disappointed; an urban legend I guess.
