The travel consultant said "Good old Meryan" when suggesting the hotel. And indeed, a great hotel and a great vacation. The mansion is modest but beautiful, not burdened with gold glitter or sculptures. Beautifully maintained environment, a lot of vegetation and flower beds, fish swimming in a small stream give relaxation comfort and peace. The resort is located at the beginning of Orkucalar town on a sand and gravel beach. About 2km to the center of the town and the shopping district "Alara Grand Bazar". On Fridays, the market day is about 500m from the hotel. Nice and tidy room. Large balcony. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels are changed and the minibar is replenished. There is not too much choice of food, but it is really tasty and well prepared. A large bar menu, delicious cocktails. The staff is friendly, polite, always smiling and ready to help. Special Thanks to @Ramazan (Restaurant and Beach Bar), @Mesut (Loby Bar) and @Enes (Loby Bar at Night)...

Staff - what can I say other than Meryan for creating such a fantastic work force. Nothing is too much and staff in all teams are very pleasant. We have been incredibly impressed by the service! Food - feels a bit repetitive, but the quality is always spot on. I can be a tad fussy at times, but I’ve still found something to eat during our time here. I think what’s missing is maybe an a la carte restaurant to break up the repetitive food from the buffet. I have to say though that the beach bar serving takeaway food during the day was a really easy option during the day! Waiter service was a bonus! Room - we had a standard room which overlooked the water slides and it was a very well kept and comfortable room. Takes a bit to get used to the air conditioning and if you get cold, the blanket doesn’t cover 2 of you comfortably, so you’d need an extra one. Can’t fault the quality of the room at all. The bed for us was also really comfy. Pool/beach area - the one thing I have to say is that there isn’t enough beds for guests here and it’s been an annoyance having to get up at 6.30 for beds (we are a party of 6, so it’s harder the later we’re up; 1 day we didn’t get 1 bed between us and had to spend the day sat at the pool bar which was far from relaxing for us. The pier is fab for jumping off and swimming by rather than navigating the pebble beach. We found the Aura shopping centre had the cheapest water shoes around (€10 a pair); that’s left out of the hotel and about 0.75 miles away at the opposite side of the main road. Entertainment- struggled to get seats for the entertainment so can’t really comment on it. We were able to play bingo - we won and the prizes were typical holiday tat. Can’t fault the effort of the team though and I have to say the foam party was so much fun!! Additional Info: we had a 70th birthday in resort, we paid to have the table at tea time decorated and for a cake, it was €60 (€10 per person). The cake was huge and could have probably fed about 10-12 people. Some photos of the table and cake below. The Friday market is 0.5 miles from the hotel (turn right and cross at the first subway you come to) - there’s steps on the subway, so if anyone has mobility difficulties might want to get a taxi (€5 each way). The Soho Bazaar is 1 mile to the right outside the hotel, but on the same side of the highway, the only crossing is at a roundabout. I checked the distances on my strava and they differ to what the signs say outside the hotel. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend!

The pillows are very big and hard. My only complaint is that they repeat music over and over again and that once an event starts, it ends very quickly. The food is very nice, a good selection to choose from- WiFi and ice cream is also free. Lovely clean rooms. The bar also has very good drinks- proper mixers. Beach is very close but is a pebble beach with a pier to jump from. Overall an amazing experience!

We returned yesterday from our 10 night holiday at the Meryan and I would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is beautiful, staff were superb and food was lovely. We were a big group (from 11 year olds to 75) but nothing was ever a problem. I had been reading reviews before I left that were worrying me so I wanted to write one to show what a great time we had. Sunbeds around the pool were very popular with guests but we weren’t bothered about them. We spent every day on the beach where we had sunloungers without a problem. We used the games room, spa, gym, beach and pool. I thoroughly recommend the cocktails!

I will address the negative reviews 1st, to get it out of the way. I WOULD rate this hotel 5*. If you look at the criteria for 5* it meets it. The hotel is clean, there are staff collecting glasses and rubbish, mopping and cleaning throughout the day. There were many English families when I was there, but the perception is that there aren't so many families keep themselves to themselves but if you mingle/listen as you walk around the hotel you will come across them (if you want to). If you feel that you want to meet English people you can ask your rep/hotel staff to introduce you.. You can use the Google Translate to staff if they don't understand exactly what you are asking. In terms of room cleaning, you have door signs to indicate whether you want it cleaned and if you think the cleaning isn't up to scratch (of course you cannot blame ONE cleaner for the cleanliness of the WHOLE hotel) you should go down to reception and ask for what you want. It's very simple. Taking pictures and criticism of the whole hotel is not fair. As for the food not ALL being labelled, that is true, but this is in relation to some dishes and salads. AGAIN, it is possible to use Google Translate to ASK, some staff speak English although in my opinion they shouldn't need to. Now to MY review: I went with my 2 sons, 22 and 13. We arrived at approx midnight. The transfer said approx 3 hours but it was about an hour and half (maybe because it was night). You stop half way through the journey for a break. You can buy something to eat /drink/ use the loo. Tourist prices. I was advised to take Turkish Lira with me. This was wrong. Take Euros! It's very long to work out prices when u are told the euro, then they use a calculator to work out the lira then you have to work out the pounds to see if you have a bargain or not lol. Take Euros. Arrived at the hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming. The person who brings the luggage to your room expects a tip. I got that impression. There was some food available on arrival, it was pasta and sauce ans there is a 24 hour bar in the lobby, so we were fine! The room was clean. I asked for an extra bed and it was provided the next morning. The sun lounger issue depends on the other guests in the hotel. You may get guests who are super keen to be up early and that when u will need to get up early to put your towel down to sit by the pool. I noticed that when some guests left, there was a shift in how early you would need to get up for a loungers. I did note management put stickers on some towels but these people had left their towel down for hours and there were people without loungers. The managers made a fair decision, I watched them and it was justified. And at times had to get MORE loungers to accommodate. The 1 euro to replace blue towels may seem unfair but in the current climate, imagine how much it would cost to deal with cleaning all the towels and issuing new ones. I think it's a cost effective way to run the hotel pers

The most average hotel nothing too bad but nothing that stands out. I would not say this is a 5 star hotel more like a 3. (would not recommend for english tourists) Pros- Entertainment staff are great. Entertainment in the evening is good. Snack bar is good. Waffles and ice cream during the day. Fresh omelettes. Stocked mini fridge. Cons- Impossible to sleep before 11:30pm music is so loud. Not enough sunbeds around the pool, they were all reserved before 8am everyday, only sunbeds left are ones on the beach with no shade. Barely any equipment in the gym. Having glasses around the pool least 2/3 smashed everyday. Housekeeping was not the best. ( was poo in the hallway) Not good selection of food at the buffet. Pool randomly closed for emergency cleaning with no explanation?? The bellman refused to leave our room until we tipped him, as females this was extremely uncomfortable. Having to pay 1 euro for fresh pool towels is ridiculous for a 5 star hotel.

Amazing hotel! One of the best I’ve been to. Food could have been better but my friends loved it so it depends on what you like. We had a view of the pool and the beach from the balcony and our balcony was one of the 2 biggest ones in the whole hotel so we were very lucky. Most of the other balcony’s aren’t as big but I personally didn’t sit on the balcony so don’t see this as an issue. Request a poole side view if possible as the other view is of a main road and not as nice. The entertainment staff were brilliant, there was pool games every day, lots of things to do! Kids club with outdoor playarea, 3 good slides which were lots of fun and a little kiddy bit too. They did play music by the pool so if you want something more quiet this isn’t the hotel for you. Lots of options for drinks, the staff were friendly. The night entertainment was amazing! Shows everynight from Brazilian show, Turkish show, Ancient Rome. There was dancers, Acrobatics, Kareoke, Bingo and lots more! They had a club open 3 days a week- Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday which was good if you wanted to party for longer this was open till 3am. It did shut early at 1am one night but that was because it wasn’t that busy then. The music is very loud at night and on till about 11:30pm so if you don’t like late nights it will be very hard to have an early one! The beach was nice with a lovely beach bar with food served so you could have that option instead of the main restaurant. It was a stony beach but had some water sports on offer however I do not recommend these and the health regulations are not as good as in the UK and there are a lot of dangers with the Parasailing but banana boats and jet skis are okay. There was a pier in the sea but had no sunbeds on like other hotels next to this one but it was nice to walk on and had lovely views of the sunset! We did struggle to get a sunbed by the pool some days as people would reserve them at 7am eventhough the staff made an announcement not to do so. There wasn’t alot to do around the hotel but a 15 min walk was a market with all the fake designer clothes and it wasn’t too far from Alanya but we didn’t go there. Overall I think this was a brilliant hotel! I would definitely go again.

Stay 14 days from 31/05/2024 - 14/06/2024 amazing hotel, amazing very family service, professional approach to the customer. The head of the restaurant and all bars deserve great recognition for cleanliness, professionalism, and several bartenders and especially Muhammet from the pool for professional drinks from around the world. Excellent food, baclava, halva, fruits, meats, salads, cheeses, Clean hotel, you can only find fault with cleaning at late hours. Well-kept pools, clean slides for children. A bit disappointing is the pier by the sea and they do not have sunbeds, only artificial grass here. To Alanya bus every 10 minutes 2.50 € to Grand Bazar 1.2 km or free bus from 20-22. I will definitely come back here, great place at an excellent price. temp 33-36 ° C

An old hotel with partially renovated rooms and exterior only. Restaurant, bar, lobby, toilettes around area looks like very old and poor 4 stars. I don't recommend coming here with small kids, music is very very loud to late nights. In October water in the pools is icy cold. It's not possible to swim, even for kids. Floor around pools is very slippery. One day I saw 2 accidents in 30 minutes. No tissues in rooms. Food is very poor. Salads are fine, but all warm dishes are flooded with oil. If you are allergic, vegan or have any intolerance, forget about this hotel. There are no any labels with allergens. Also this was first 5* hotel we've been to where plant milk was impossible to get. Glasses, plates and cutlery are often dirty! How???! How it's possible to have 5 stars and so good reviews in google/tripadv. Fake for sure.
