I never write reviews, but this trip was so disappointing that I have to share. We splurged on this trip for our honeymoon. When we arrived, we did not have a room for 5 hours. The first room we were put in had a water damage problem. I’m surprised they didn’t notice because it was quite obvious (pictured below). When we were finally put in a new room at 8pm, we discovered it was between rooms under construction. We were woken up every morning at 6am to hammering and drilling. The entire resort was under construction and we were not made aware prior to our trip. Additionally, the service was slow. We waited for drinks at the pool bar constantly. The food was underwhelming. We frequently went to 2 restaurants a night because the first meal was disappointing. I will not be going to a Sandals resort ever again.

I want to thank Khadija (our contact person at Sandals Barbados) for her part in making our 25th wedding anniversary great. The whole Sandals experience was wonderful but our private dinner was absolutely the highlight of our entire trip. Fabiana, DJDash and the rest of the Sandals staff that night were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Song after song, DJ Dash had us “Old Folks” dancing the whole night. He played a Perfect combination of old and new school music. Fabriana and the staff were so attentive to each one of our guests every need. We all felt like Royalty. We are avid travelers but this was our best trip ever.

Please save your money and go somewhere else. The staff are so unhappy with no motivation. It takes so long to even get a drink. You can’t get a meal in the evenings unless you go down at 5:30. I have been told they are making even more redundancies next week so it will get even worse. You get snapped at by waitresses in the restaurants. Not everything is open all the time so you could wait 1 and half hours for some food at lunchtime. It is a beautiful place, but you should be here for a good time, and the management have decided to that should not do that.

Don't waste your money!! We usually love Sandals properties. This one could not be more disappointing in service, food, and property conditions. No one is coming around to see if you are having a good time. There are loads of empty glasses and food plates lying around without anyone to collect. Food is average to less than average, but who would care. Staff could not have given the attitude they do not want to be there more if they had tried. Non friendly, non welcoming, does not care. Resort is dirty. The front door molding of our room came off and stayed off, no one cared. Requested tonic water for our room several times to no avail. Extremely disappointing for such expense. Don't waste your time or money.

This is my 3rd time at a Sandals resort. This was the worst Sandals that my wife and I have experienced. The grounds were descent, and the location is beautiful. The staff was not very friendly, made us feel like they were doing us a favor by serving us, and the resort was very boring, there was minimal entertainment both during the day and night. The temperature of the pool water felt like a warm bath, and we had to search the resort to find towels. We were lucky enough to get reservations at all the restaurants that we wanted but they were not all good experiences. The Japanese and the French restaurant didn’t have any AC and we ate our food while dripping sweat and drinking hot water because they were out of ice and the waitress told us that the AC has never really worked. There was at least an hour wait no matter where we went for food, and the reservation system never showed that we had a reservation, so I had to go back to my room twice to get my reservation card to eat. It seems that there are some very concerning staffing and management issues, we heard a rumor that they had recently laid off 200+ employees. This experience was not worth the money we paid, and we regret ever going to Sandals Barbados. We will never visit this Sandals again and I will warn all my family and friends to avoid this location.

This is my 4th time at Sandals. Currently, this Sandals is the most boring, unclean, unfriendly, attitude-filled, resort I’ve ever been to. Nearly every event that is scheduled at the pools are not conducted. There is no music at the pools on Royal side. There is only music at Barbados side for around 2 hours daily. Bartenders on Barbados side will not come to the pool-level bar. Reservations booked by butlers are apparently fake and the restaurants are refusing to seat us. This resort is clearly understaffed and had serious downgrades in recent years. There is no reason for a wait over an hour at restaurants that are less than half capacity. We’ve been notified by a multitude of other unsatisfied guests that they have received downgraded rooms from what they paid for and were only accommodated with spa credit. They were not notified until arriving at the resort. We were also notified of 200+ employees being “laid off” shortly before our arrival. As a result, many other customers who have been here previously are now stating this resort WAS a good resort prior.

Arrival and Initial Impressions We arrived at Sandals Barbados on September 16th for a 10-night stay. While the property is beautiful, our initial experience was a bit disappointing. Our rooms (3301-33-35) lacked basic amenities like robes and slippers, which we would expect from a five-star resort. Staff and Service The staff at Sandals Barbados is a mixed bag. Some team members have been incredibly helpful and friendly, while others have seemed disinterested or even ignorant. Unfortunately, service, particularly at the sports bar, has been a significant issue. On multiple occasions, guests have had to serve themselves due to a complete lack of bartenders. Dining and Amenities The resort offers a variety of dining options, though the beer selection could be improved. Stella is available at the Monkey Bar, and there are plenty of choices at the sports bar. However, as mentioned earlier, getting served can be a challenge. Room Conditions While our rooms are generally comfortable, they show signs of wear and tear. Room 3301, in particular, has peeling paint and bubbling wallpaper. The overall condition of the rooms falls short of the standards we expected from a Sandals resort. Entertainment and Other Highlights The entertainment options at Sandals Barbados have been enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the show by Dale. However, the closure of the Teppanyaki restaurant was a disappointment. Overall Assessment So far, our stay at Sandals Barbados has been mixed. While the property is beautiful and offers a variety of amenities, the service issues and room conditions have been disappointing. We hope that the remaining eight nights will be better and that the resort can address these concerns.

We loved Sandals Barbardos. It has a fantastic beach as compared to other places we have been. The resort is kept immaculately, and the food was excellent as compared to other Sandals. We would love to come back some day!

We are currently here now and wanted to post a warning for anyone departing soon who might be able to change their trip! I will post a much longer review when we return… There have been hundreds laid off here and they are short staffed. Majority of staff is rude and service is awful. Long lines for dinner each night - sometimes waiting two hours. Lots of amenities are broken. COCKROACHES in Chi restaurant and many of the bathrooms in the Royal side. Staff seems inconvenienced!! Took 4 plus hours to get checked in and then they couldn’t get us in as our lock was broken. Bathroom fan not working, 1 elevator broken in our building, restaurants canceling reservations, restaurants closing last minute. Very slow bar service and often rude. Sheets on bed are stained. Bathroom fan broken. Room did not get cleaned yesterday. Took two days to get an iron. Many restaurants out of ingredients! No avocado, no spring rolls, the list goes on. Construction in the room next to us. On plus side: resort is well maintained and beach is stunning!!!
