Although it is far from Odate Station, there are many restaurants and izakayas in the surrounding area. You can go for drinks on foot. The public bath is not very large, but it is wider than a typical home bathtub and you can stretch your legs out. The public bath can be used from 3:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Most of the amenities are available, so it's not an inconvenience. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the nearby convenience store. The room does not lock automatically, so be careful when going out. Breakfast had a wide variety of bread and rice. I would like to use it again when I visit Odate.
The aircraft was canceled and suddenly took a schedule change, but I was able to eat breakfast only because I was carrying out breakfast buffet. It was a normal Viking method only by disinfecting alcohol and wearing masks and disposal gloves. However, the employee did not pay attention to several male guests standing without masks. Even if such a guest becomes an infection source, the hotel is said to be bad, so the hotel is hard. But I wanted to be careful.

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Again, don't worry about English. Staff has great service attitude and are very very helpful! Also very honest. I lost my PASSMO and train ticket - picked up from just outside hotel and returned to me. If there's an eventin the vicinity, this hotel is PERFECT! They have won many awards and the staff even helped me to connect with the next hotel for early check in as the staff were friends with the hotel I was going to stay...Most interesting convenience store, tried interesting oden and even stocked Okinawa pig ears that were so thinly sliced. Better than the Chinese restaurants - so refined...Visit them in the 2nd weekend of February and you can tour the candy festival (with Akita Dogs parade) at the same time. Very comfortable bed too. I can't find anything bad about the hotel.
Hotel is pretty far away from Odate Station about 30 mins by foot. There are buses from the Station to the Hotel if you do not want to walk. Overall the price is reasonable and it is a decent hotel to stay in Odate.
The breakfast was very delicious. The chicken soup of the inland chicken, the appearance was like a simple soup, but the taste was certain! There was also a tonboku and it was served with a potato. I was able to feel Akita for breakfast. I think Cospa is a good hotel.
We stayed two nights. It was a great experience. Room itself is good, bed is comfortable. Got onsen and free half portion of ramen and rice after 7:30pm, which is a bonus. Ramen is delicious. However, service for a part-time staff (a girl) was bad! This is the first time we experienced such bad service in Japan. First, her greeting was mean and rude, with no smile on her face and kind of ignoring the customer. Second, after we got the room key and get ready to take the elevator, we didn't know the way. She just kept ignoring us which a normal staff would show you the way to the elevator right after finished check-in. Lastly, after we entered into the room, we found out that the toilet seat was loosen. So we went down to the lobby to tell her about these. She was so unhelpful that she did not even want to come up to our room to see what happen, but just tild us to use the toilet in the lobby instead!
At the end, luckily there was another senior full time staff just on duty, we told him about this, and he immediately went up to our room to see what happen. Will give this senior staff a 5 star.
So other than that part-time staff (girl), all were pretty good.
This is a public bath frequented by locals with accommodation. People come and go, so not lively. Health is definitely stronger than domestic, but as a short-term traveler, this kind of accommodation is not recommended. Good aspects: you can experience the customs and habits of locals, and the service staff is enthusiastic; Weak aspects: 1. It is far from the Daguan Railway Station, drag the suitcase for a minute, and return to the hotel at night. There is no street light on the whole street; 2. The old-fashioned room that has not been renovated in the later period, of course, the accommodation conditions should not be reluctant; 3. Breakfast can be full, others will be different. π
Hotel room is clean and comfortable. They even give one free entrance to the onsen next door. Staff are courteous and welcoming. Only shortcoming is it is located next to a railway crossing and sound proofing is not perfect. So be prepared to be awaken at 2am in the morning due to train crossing.

GGuest UserThis very homestay style accommodation started some 48 years ago by the grandma. Two of her daugthers, Kaori and Katura now runs this cosy place with about 10 rooms. The stars are the two Akita inu, Haru-chan (father), 7 years old. And his daughter, Hana-chan (6 years old). it will take some time to warm up with them, similar to Shiba inu. We got to spend sometime with both of them during our stay, including giving them some treats, watched Haru-chan drinks ice cream with ice (it was a hot day). Chatted with Kaori and grandma to find out more about them. We had dinner and breakfast which was home cooked style. It has been a pleasant stay. Very friendly and down to earth family. This is highly recommended if you are into Akita Inu and enjoy homestay.
