Moon Palace Jamaica

Moon Palace was a good Jamaica experience. We did The Grand Cancun last year and the Jamaica Moon palace this year. There are many pluses including MOMO tappenayki, chef Colleen was fabulous. Great to see female chefs! The beach is better here than Cancun. Everything is in walking distance, beach, bar, pools, etc no golf carts needed. You can walk off the resort and experience Ocho Rio easily. I recommend it. We are family of 4 , 2 kids 15, 10. Dolphin swim at resort. Great snorkeling trip nearby.

We just got back from a wonderful week at Moon Palace. I was originally very nervous to take the trip to this resort as we normally book Rius and Principe chain resorts. I was very nervous to come to this resort based solely on Facebook reviews and TripAdvisor reviews. I have to say that this resort was everything and more this resort surpassed the negative reviews the food was top notch, and everything, and more anyone that complains that this resort does not have enough cultured authentic food is totally bluffing. The food was absolutely amazing! I’m a sucker for small details the shampoo and conditioner is CHI it sudds and wash is beautifully being that I have long hair. This is something that I can appreciate the towels in the room were extremely white and fluffy. The room came with fully equipped CHI hair straightener, and blow dryer salon quality. This was a very pleasant surprise! I love the app to book any restaurant stays. It was extremely easy to navigate as well as navigating the activities. I absolutely loved the water aerobics and attended every day at 12 o’clock by the pool for the complete week. I have to give a shout out to the two wonderful gentleman who worked the surf wave pool my kids use daily these two gentlemen are absolutely wonderful with the children. My kids lived there for four days learned a lot from them and really appreciated the tips tricks and patience. Don’t forget to tip these two gentlemen as they solely love their job and you can tell by the interaction they have with the kids. I absolutely also loved the ocean. It was extremely clear, clean and enjoyable to swim in opposed to other resorts. I’ve stayed at where it was very rocky and had lots of seaweed. I also enjoyed the Mountain View and seeing the white mist over the local mountain and then having a view of the ocean was quite the treat. the only one thing that I can say, I was not a big fan of was the encapsuled dolphins that you can hear and see daily I don’t agree with encapsulating wildlife in cinderblocks in general and right in front of tourists was a uncomfortable experience

This resort was alright, gift shops were very expensive. A lot of things would ran out for example at the Cafe no tall glasses, no macarons here and not a lot of icecream flavors. Restaurants would also ran out of items. Beach was swimmable calm water. Beware of Jellyfish there’s a lot of people being stung. Drinks was good too, but make sure you ask for liquor in your drink. Because most of the time they don’t put alcohol. Spa was awesome with very good attitude staff. I mentioned that the spa staff had good attitude, because most of the staff aren’t very nice. Also this hotel wasn’t very accommodating to their guests. I saw more than 3 families with different complaints and wasn’t happy with the service. And all wasn’t resolved. I too wasn’t happy with my room and the pricing were not correct on spa services. Online price spa app ($184.00) was different from the paper($189.00) they present to you when they sit you down for more scams of upgrades. A different price at the salon ($200.00) itself. Of course they didn’t honor the lowest price. Charge me $200.00 minus the credit plus the 16% .

It’s my last day here and overall we had an excellent time. There were 14 of us in total. The food was ok but the activities and the view the hotel has to offer is amazing so for me it makes up for the food. The beach is so close to the main pool area so it’s so wonderful for those who have some mobility issues. I would like to make a special mention to Racquel in the lobby as she was always such a pleasure to work with and Lee in the Awe Spa. I have had multiple massages in the past at Awe spa in Cancun and Jamaica however the love and care she put into her work left me wishing I had booked it for longer. Overall a great stay and would recommend it for families.

Delicious food, Friendly staff (Austin was awesome), very fun resort with lots to do, arcade, playroom, lots of pools, waterslide, cool shows every night including karaoke for kids and adults. Pool side an regular bars everywhere. The best restaurants including hibachi, Italian, Jamaican, buffet, and lots of desserts!

This was our first trip to Jamaica, but third to a Palace Resort (we are not members; just enjoy the experience that they provide to our family). I would rate this ahead of Sunrise in Cancun, but below the Grand - Cancun. The food was average, with some hits and some misses (the restaurants with set menus were all wonderful, but the buffet was nothing special). What really sets this property apart from the other Palace properties we've stayed at is the incredible service. Regardless of whether we were interacting with the front desk (Nicole was so helpful in getting our 3 rooms all next to each other), the pool staff, or the housekeeping, our group of 8 had nothing but positive experiences. If you find yourself at this resort, you absolutely need to get a spot at the main pool and make fast friends with the wait staff (especially Abigail, who repeatedly went above and beyond for our family) and the bartenders (David took great care of us and was always greeting our kids with fist bump and a mango tango). And when our youngest (5yo) needed a break from the sun, the Playroom staff (especially Kadeisha) took amazing care of him. We were a little apprehensive to use the Playroom without us being present, but they quickly put us at ease and our son begged to spend more time in there. And as with any stay at Palace, you'll need to go through the vacation planners to use resort credits and book excursions. While that has been a hassle at other properties, Raquel made it so much easier - it felt like she took personal ownership of our plans and made sure that we got exactly what we wanted.
