It is very centrally located with Tesco, M n S big supermarkets just round the corner 5 minutes walk away. Some Car park spaces in front good for free parking after 6 pm to 9 am. For cheapest whole day parking, 7.50 pound can be found near the ferry pier, about 7 mins walk from hotel. Easy access to all restaurants.
Reception is within the bar in Ranald Hotel with manned staff until 11pm.
Cons in room, water shower not consistent in temperature, no washing machine and room lightings can feel too dark. But maybe a lot of lightings in that area are like that…
But all in all will recommend. Comfortable.

The room has a microwave, induction cooker, plates, and bowls. Most hotels in the UK have to prepare toiletries and slippers by yourself. This apartment does not have shower gel or hand sanitizer.

Unreliable water to rooms. Water shut off mid-shower in morning and again in the evening. I had soap in eyes and skin, but they said a temporary water stoppage is reasonable. Old squeaky floors. No lift or air conditioning. Unattended overnight. Dank, musty rooms from having outside humidity all the time. Not a good option.

My wife found this little gem of a hotel just off the main street the hotel is lovely rooms are clean and cosy they have. A small bar as well with a special s board they do a limited cooked breakfast in the morning we had. The pancakes with bacon and maple syrup ❤️ big shout out to Leah on reception she was excellent and very helpful and also makes good cocktails will definitely return and recommend

We have stayed here a few times, the apartments are just perfect, very clean, very comfortable beds, everything you need for a comfortable stay, very close to all amenities, hotel staff at check in & check out are very engaging with guests , the photos on hotel website do reflect what the apartments are actually like

The location of this hotel could not be better! Very centrally located to downtown Oban, yet very quiet. Our room backed onto a rocky cliff, so no one was behind us and it was very restful. The rooms are comfortable. I much appreciated the delivery of a fan to cool the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The drawbacks are that the Internet is very poor (maybe a function of the room location) and the breakfast offerings are good but limited. Also, there is no elevator, which was not an issue for us. However, I would definitely stay here again!

Spent three nights at the Ranald for our visit to Oban and Iona. Great location. Rooms are a bit small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Not the most luxurious, but functional, efficient, and friendly. Recommend without reservation.

Spent 15 days in Scotland, least favorite place. Limited parking, poor wi-fi, extremely small room/shower (low cost end), staff seemed dis-interested in helping with issues, better options are likely available. Good location but that's about it.

Fabulous hotel in a fantastic location. Room spacious and very clean. Staff great - friendly and professional. I Would definitely book again and already planning our next adventure to the seafood capital of Scotland. Everything is within short walking distance.
