Palace Hotel - Small Hotel

This is anything but a palace as it’s very very dated and in need of a deep clean although the bed was clean. The best about the hotel is it’s situated on the Main Street facing the harbour. I feel the owners are very happy robbing customers of their cash. I paid £138 for 1 night as I was desperate. There was no breakfast included, no parking, no WiFi and no lifts even though there is 5 floors. I would definitely never go back to this hotel desperate or not .

Stayed one night here with my husband & our 2 children. This hotel is not half as bad as the reviews make it out to be. We booked this as it was the last option available for a family of 4 for 1 night as we were meeting family in Oban who stayed elsewhere. At £184 per night without breakfast we found this was very expensive, We were also £18 to park for 24 hours at the car park behind the hotel, Adding this takes our overall stay to over the £200 mark so for that reason we wouldn’t stay again. Our room was on the top floor & there is no lift so keep this in mind when booking there is ALOT of stairs. Our room was spotless, the bedding was all white & fresh, towels shampoo conditioner & little soaps were provided. Tea & Coffee making facilities in the room aswell and a small fridge. On check in we were greeted by a lady who was pleasant enough but nobody there on check out & we just dropped the key but this wasn’t an issue for us. The view from our room was lovely.

Convenient location but small room and quite pricey; great to be able to see the sea from our comfortable double bed! The UHT milk sachets in the room were two years - yes, two years - past their 'use by 'date,' so made my morning coffee lumpy! Lacked internet

This hotel transports you back in time with modern amenities and clean rooms with the old town house decor and feel. It’s central Oban with everything on the door step. Sea views from the rooms. It’s as basic as you like or for a little extra the staff will go out of their way to do anything for you. Although not my style I found the staff warm welcoming and very attentive if I needed anything. Ann was a delight. Thank you for being so kind. The family are well known in the town and support their local community anyway they can. The bar has everything you want and breakfasts always local produce. Lovely night in a comfortable bed nice and warm rooms kept to a high standard. It can be hard to keep buildings like this one warm but our room was nice and warm. Would be more than happy to stay here again. If ultra modern is your thing this probably won’t be your thing. I have to say sometimes it’s nice to escape fro that works and experience somthing completely different. Palace hotel family thank you.

I thought my room at 150 pounds a night without breakfast was a bit expensive. The room was small compact but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Huge TV Located in the centre of Oban Good views of the harbour No parking
