Excellent hotel run by a really friendly couple. Had an excellent home made pizza while the rest of the family had locally produced pies, which they were all very pleased with. The rooms were fine. Comfortable beds. Clean. All you need really. Definitely recommend.

Great little hotel, friendly owners, great food and high quality furnishings/finishes. My friend and I used this as a base for carrying out wildlife photography aboard the MV Wild Morvern, operated by Wild West Coast. Will be back one day soon!

Beautiful scenery from the hotels sea view rooms. Lovely owners really comfortable bed. And you can have breakfast there. But I think you have to pre order evening meals that are home cooked that evening. It’s not really worthwhile going to the restaurant up the road. Ok the meals are very nice but it’s a set menu and very expensive indeed. So I recommend you pre book at the hotel or eat on the way before you get there. It is quite a way to nearest place. There’s a little shop and a little food shack at the ferry terminal.

I had the most wonderful time at this hotel, the view from my room was incredible! My room had everything I needed and more, and the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the shower was perfect! But the view! The view was heavenly! I unfortunately broke my leg on my holiday but Shaley and Peter took great care of my needs, they were wonderful and I will definitely return without a broken leg 🤣

You get a sense of good,honest, hardworking folk and a close-knit community when you arrive at the Lochaline Hotel. Interestingly, we found out later that 30 St Kildans were evacuated in 1930 to Lochaline, Movern in 1930, whose descendants could account for the very large & fantastic piece of haddock in batter, friendly camaraderie in the bar & warm hospitality perhaps?! ... It is essentially, a very down to earth, laid back hotel in need of a bit of tlc - but what a view down the Sound of Mull! Thank you for accommodating an extra two for food at a tricky time and thank you for the beautiful eggs, which we had on our boat for breakfast the next morning. I wished we had had more time to chat with folk in hindsight, as I suspect there are some phantasmagorical tales to be heard.

The owners Peter and Shaley took over this hotel in February 2022, and since then have been working hard to modernize this property. As of mid August 2022, the bedrooms and the dining room are done, light and comfortable. Our bedroom overlooked Isle of Mull across the sea, which was breathtakingly beautiful. You can go down to the beach which is not sandy, but full of smooth rocks with seaweeds. The seawater is very clear, so that you can see little purplish jellyfish bobbing up and down. There is a ferry, about 10 minutes away, that can take you to Fishnish Harbour on the Isle of Mull in less than 20 minutes, either in your car or on foot. A beautiful island perfect for a daytrip from Lochaline Hotel. The owners Peter and Shaley are extremely kind and friendly hosts who went many extra miles for us! Even thought their website state that dinner is not generally served, they had baked really lovely pizzas. We had such a memorably lovely holiday there. We would definitely love to come back again!

Calme absolu juste en face de l’île de Mull.Le ferry est à 200m.Superbes chambres,literie confortable et accueil très chaleureux.Nous avons aperçu des dauphins de notre chambre,cet endroit est sans aucun doute à recommander pour les amoureux de la nature.

Le propriétaire est un co**** de première. J’explique, l’application sur booking situe l’hôtel a 14km de la ville d’Oban. Sur plusieurs recherches il apparaît dans les 3 premiers choix de la ville d’Oban. Dans le descriptif de l’hôtel, ainsi que son adresse, tout apparaît sur la ville d’Oban. En réalité le jour arrive de notre réservation, après des heures de randonné, je rentre l’adresse dans le GPS et je m’aperçois que 3 chemin s’offre à moi, dont 2 avec Ferry, et qu’en réalité l’hôtel se trouve sur une île attenante à la ville d’Oban avec plus de 2h de route et 100km!!!! L’hôtel est sur une île à 15km d’Oban, rien n’est precise, refuse de rembourser la nuit dans ces conditions. Il est clair que celui-ci utilise la ville d’Oban afin de générer du traffic, est il est impératif de signaler cette arnaque aux diverses autorités de référence. Pour ma part j’en suis de 170€ perdu avec cette mésaventure.
