I had booked a double room for my husband and myself, My sister decided to come with us. So I got in touch with Glengorm to ask for a family room, I received confirmation of the family room. I also confirmed I didn't need the double room after that. When we got to Oban after waiting 3hrs to get in at 4PM to pay the room. The manager said there was no room with our name booked for us. I showed her the confirmation email they sent to me she said it was her fault she didn't write it in. So the room that I asked for was a shared bathroom at £360 They had none available just a family room with private bathroom. The manager asked for £100 more for that room which we didn't have extra as this was a birthday gift we had spending money.she offered it for £ 30 less and told us to think about it. Also offered to take the payment for breakfast off which would mean paying more in a cafe. We spoke to my son who wasn't happy at what happened but put the extra £70 needed for us to get the room. It put such a dampener on my birthday and it's all we spoke about. It also turned out the tv and the wifi in the room didn't work either. We were all gutted at what happened. This was indeed the manager's fault we feel possibly we should have maybe got the room at £400 the money isn't really the principal just the attitude of take it or leave it. Which we couldn't have done as we didn't have a car it was a bus we took there. To top it all of the next morning the electricity in the lounge had blown and there was noone to speak to anywhere so we had cereal and had to go without tea and toast.

If I could score this place minus I would. Please avoid this establishment. They have black mold on the mattresses, urine stains on sheets. The rooms are not clean the stairs are unsafe. The furniture is stained and the hotel owner denies all and refuses to look at evidence or refund. Please do not book to stay at this property you will end up ill. Trip typeHoliday · Family RoomsRooms are dirty dated and need of a deep clean. Mattresses are covered in black mold and sheets stained as detailed in pictures. SafetyStairs unsafe and wobble under your feet as you walk on them. Dangerous! Food and drinksWould not eat here the breakfast room is not clean and furniture is stained and smells. Noteworthy detailsCheck in from 4pm but no one at property when you try to check in they just leave the keys on taped to the front door. Refuse to rectify the issue refused to refund

Over priced and run down. The place is terribly run-down; there are no staff on-site. The heater knob came off in our hand when we tried to turn it off. We rang the mobile number; they said it automatically turns off at 12 midnight. Nobody came the following day, and theres no air-conditioning. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet, so it kept sliding around every time you used it, no ensuite some rooms have a toilet and they all tend to have a small sink. Don't stay here; it smells old and musky, and there's no staff around if you have an issue. There are a lot of nice places in Oban with free off street parking this is not one of them they also own next door its also run down and musky the carpets stunk.

Stayed here overnight and the room was ok. Smelt a bit foosty at the entrance but the rooms were fine. Shared bathroom but it was ok as I think me and my friends were the only ones on the 1st floor Can’t comment on the breakfast as we had to leave very early for a ferry.

Stayed here before and it seemed not too bad but we where put in the first room to the left when this time and needless to say it out us off coming back , the bed was dated the headboard wasn't for the same bed and wasn't even attached to the bed , the side table was chipped and damaged , the toilet attached to the room was like prison cell toilet, the top covers of the taps where not on and inside the taps where grotty , the decor was 70s style woodchip , we didn't even bother with breakfast even though it was included in the price, sadly won't return pay a little extra for something better around oban

Had a lovely stay at Glengorn Guest House when visiting for the Royal Mòd. Check in was quick and easy, room was clean and tidy with an assortment of tea , coffee and some biscuits. I had opted for a room with shared bathroom which was spotless and close to the room. The accommodation is incredibly close to almost anything you could want and a short walk away from the train and bus stations.
