Both online and on the airport transfer, an employee of the tour operator told us that we would need a maximum of 1:40 hours to get to the accommodation. The actual travel time with the booked airport transfer was around 3 hours!! Our entire journey from Vienna to the accommodation in Alanya therefore took around 12 hours - with 2 underage children and a toddler, this travel time is unreasonable. When we arrived at the hotel, we noticed that our apartment was not located directly in the resort. To enter the resort, we had to leave our hotel complex and follow a busy road without a sidewalk for about 2 minutes to enter the resort. With the speeding cars, delivery trucks and motorcyclists, this was always a risk with our children (as there was no sidewalk!). We were very happy with the apartment itself, as it was large and spacious - ideal for 4 people. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The tiled walls in the bathroom and all the doors had apparently never been wiped down, as there were "running" dried stains everywhere, which was very unpleasant. The dishwasher and microwave had rust and mold. The cleaner only mopped the floor or changed the bed linen once in all the days. Otherwise, they only changed the towels and "cleaned" the bathroom and made up the bedspreads. Now we come to the most unpleasant part of the vacation, which is the food and the dining room. The dining room was not air-conditioned and although the food was warmed, it was not cooled (which would have been necessary, such as cheese, open watermelon, etc.). So the food stood for hours from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in a "warm chamber" at around 35°C and 85% humidity (current temperature display on site!). It was not surprising that 3 out of 4 people in our family reacted with flatulence, vomiting and diarrhea from the 2nd day onwards. 1 person hardly ate any meat or watermelon, which suggests that the gastrointestinal infection probably came from that. No wonder considering the storage - it's almost negligent. Finally, we wanted to enjoy our vacation by the sea. The access to the sea from the resort is also via a road crossing and then a gloomy underpass where it is impossible to walk upright. With your head crouched, you walk through the underpass and arrive at the sea. This was greeted by a littered inlet that stretches far into the swimming area. Plastic bottles, cigarettes, bags, etc. were floating around in the sea - unfortunately, again, there was no sign of cleanliness.
