Good: Hotel is amazing. Staff is superb. Isabela, Gerardo, Edwin, Luis - what an amazing bunch! Rooms are incredible. Breakfast is great. Location is 10/10. Not so good: there’ll be nightclub music from the club next door all night. No way around it. They do provide ear plugs - use them. Would we come back? Yes, no doubt.

Pug Seal has been one of the best experiences I’ve had at a hotel. As someone who travels for work and has frequented many hotels this was a top notch experience from start to finish. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing. Vibe is immaculate. Coffee and fresh juice around the clock. Location is perfect. Seriously could not have asked for a better experience. Can’t wait to come back !!

When we checked in the front desk clerk upgraded us to a master suite at no additional charge to ensure we weren't disturbed by street noise other guests experienced previous nights. The exterior is deceiving as the hotel and amenities were incredible. The included breakfast with an extensive menu was the best food we had the few days we were in Oaxaca. Our server Kayla was so knowledgeable, shared so much helpful information, and made great recommendations. All the staff were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful!!! They have great seating areas and private sitting rooms that you can bring people to that are not staying at the hotel. There is beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks available. Relatives stayed at other hotels and hung out with us at Pug Seal. They felt Pug Seal was a nicer hotel than theirs. We highly recommend staying at the Pug Seal!

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Pug Seal Oaxaca. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel instantly at home. The hotel itself is stunning — beautifully designed, full of character, and impeccably maintained. Our room was spacious, quiet, and thoughtfully appointed, making it the perfect retreat after exploring the city. Breakfast was a highlight every morning — fresh, delicious, and served in such a charming setting. The staff went above and beyond in every interaction, anticipating our needs and offering great recommendations for things to see and do in Oaxaca. Every detail, from the ambiance to the service, was flawless. We can’t wait to return and will be recommending Pug Seal Oaxaca to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

It would have been a five had it not been for the annoying/migraine inducing EDM reverberating through the walls from the nightclub next door. I believe the rooms that adjoin this establishment should come with an advisory. We could not sleep well for two of the three nights we were there. Otherwise the staff are attentive and the building is beautiful. It reminded me of Andalucía and Morocco.

The breakfast is sooo good, customer service great, very well located, renovated house with exquisite taste, good advice. I visited with my three daughters and husband and we all liked it! Plus, they care about the environment. I would definitely book there again.
