Pros- the room was large. We received a room on the top floor away from the elevator as I requested. I used a free night voucher to stay here one night after the mini state fair event. Cons- the room had an odd smell. Kind of like smoke mixed with something else bad. The sliding door that's supposed to close off the bathroom sink area was missing! There were no coffee cups, just clear plastic cups. The mini fridge was dirty inside. No laundry bag. There were sticky spots on the floors. The toilet was dirty inside (not stained, just uncleaned)! The cleanliness of the rest of the room was questionable. All the lights were fluorescent and not to mention blinding in the middle of the night. Nightlight in bathroom area didn't work. I could hear noise from the neighboring room all night and couldn't get any sleep. Finally turned the room fan on to try and drown it out, then fell asleep exhausted and woke up late. We made it down to breakfast at 8:40. The nasty rude breakfast attendant didn't refill half the items (no apple juice, both milks empty, no regular coffee, nothing in the fridge like yogurt), then at exactly 9am she shut the doors, even tho we and another couple were still eating! I have worked at hotels and I have been at over 100 hotels as a guest and I have never seen this happen! The correct action would be to ask if anyone needs anything else because she's about to close. If you don't have basic customer service skills you should not be in the hospitality industry. The view from our room was of a child care place with toys and garbage all over the ground inside and outside their fence. And as we were leaving we observed an Asian man cleaning his ears in the parking lot and after he finished he threw the used q-tips on the ground. Disgusting!! Front desk was friendly but we would not stay again, especially if we had to pay!
