Extended Stay America Select Suites - St Louis - O' Fallon, IL

The room was supposed to be non-smoking but reeked of smoke. Bathroom sink had cigarette burns in it. Bed was suppose to be a queen but was a full size. Bathroom sink stopper wouldn’t open to drain. Toilet seat was barely attached. Bath towel had a decent sized hole in it. No hand towels. I arrived after 10pm so I had to use a phone in the foyer that disconnected me twice before getting to a real person to come down from the second floor to let me into the lobby and check me in.   I have stayed at other Extended Stay Americas but I will not come back to this one.

Horrible The smell of this place was ingodly the receptionist basically yelled at us saying no smoking, I’ve never smoked get to room it looks like someone smoked on sink

First off, I called ahead to confirm late check ins which they do. When I got there to check in, the phone process of doing so a huge pain. The first guy tried telling me they marked me as no show which was not correct and after arguing with him for a couple minutes I just hang up. I had been driving 10hrs and it was 1am I was in no mood to be led on to be believe I know had no where to sleep. I picked the phone and tried again and got a real nice lady the promptly called the hotel and had them check me in. First thing once in the room I used the restroom and the sink and shower were covered in black hair. To tired to fight it I just went to bed. As I went to get in bed I was greeted by the lovely yellow staind sheets. No energy to fight it I had to go to sleep and stop a truck stop for a shower. Will not be back. No photo as I didn't know that was an option on these reviews.

Only good thing was STUPIDLY HOT water Stained and dirty sink and tub in the bathroom, toilet immediately clogged.

Young person at the front desk was not very well trained in customer service at all! Everything in the room was totally outdated and wreaked of a bad mold smell, the tv was the only modern amenity in the room. The toilet quit flushing after first use, the water pressure to refill tank stopped, I actually had to remove the tank cover, lift and release the float to restart water refill, when I reported the problem at the front desk I was offered a plunger and told there was no plumber available.There was hard dried water lime adhesed all around the sink faucet handles, same issues with bathtub shower handle and shower head, GFI outlets were outdated and installed upside down. We were told there was no room cleaning service, if we needed clean towels we had to bring the dirty towels and washcloths downstairs to the front desk for clean towels, there were only 2 in the bathroom. Carpet and room office area for personal laptop use was terrible, chairs had some white sticky substance stains on them, sticky desks. The rooms' AC unit control didn't work it stayed on one temp and was very noisy through the night. We were offer to switch rooms but told they were about the same. They told me the building had been updated but didn't realized I'm a retired building contractor. The building and it's interior looked like a throwback from the 80's. We were between a rock and a hard place for a total refund and or booking another hotel as we arriver later than 3pm driving from 3 hours away.

Average . Had some problems with plumbing and the shower had a major leakage. However the room was clean and the front desk agent was spectacular!
