Our next stop after Yangon was Inle Lake in Shan State. Myanmar has a strictly defined number of sites open to tourists, and we traveled around them. The airport is called Heho, then you need to take a taxi to the town of Nyaung Shwe, which is located on a canal that flows into that same lake. There are two types of hotels here: a number of spa hotels are located directly on the shore of the lake (they accommodated a Russian group, which we ran into a few days later when flying to Bagan, and they complained that they were not allowed to leave the hotel, saying they would get lost) and in the city itself, where we stayed. The town is quite sparsely populated, with a square-nested layout, so it is very difficult to get lost there, no matter how hard you try. A taxi from the airport to the city costs 45 thousand local money (quite expensive, 1.5 thousand rubles, 40 minutes drive), the hotel offered a transfer for 40, which we used both there and back. At the entrance to the city, the car slows down at the point where they charge you, as tourists, 10 dollars for tickets to visit the lake (the owner of the hotel advised us to take a photo right away if we lose or wet the tickets, photography is legal in Myanmar), then we arrived at the hotel, where they immediately confiscated our luggage, brought towels to wipe our hands and juice. The hotel in terms of service is beyond praise: the owner immediately asked what we were planning to do, offered a whole-day boat tour of the lake the next day (60 thousand), then a taxi ride to the capital of the state, Taunggyi (75 thousand, there are climbs up two mountains, a difficult road), on the third day - hotel bicycles and showed us the route of the walk in detail. When we asked where to change money, he said that we could change it ourselves, which we did - we changed 100 dollars with him twice at the rate of 3000 for 1 dollar. When we could not check in for the next flight, we came to ask him what to do, he called the airport himself and they checked us in over the phone. In general, I recommend the hotel.
The room is spacious, also with a high comfortable bed, newly renovated (we lived on the 3rd floor). Out of 4 days, we lived there alone for 3. Cleaning every day. The location is good: the street is quiet, across the street is a school (it was quiet, maybe it was vacation) and a local museum, it's about 10 minutes' walk to the boat dock. On the next street we immediately found a restaurant where you can cook a buffet on an alcohol stove, we went there for two days, then we played enough and went to the restaurant through the wall from the hotel (the hotel's Internet even reaches there). It's also about 10 minutes to the market. Well, there are plenty of temples and other things all over the city.
Breakfast from 7. I noticed the following: when we were alone in the hotel, they set the table for us right away, on the day when there were 6 more people in the hotel besides us, they made a buffet. The choice is not very large, but we ate our fill.
If you go out for a walk or to eat after dark, I highly recommend mosquito repellent, they are real beasts here.
