We had a family apartment with 2 rooms and a leaving room. The hotel location is a walking distance to almost all main attraction. Close to the sea, the main street and the Nuuk Center. The hotel was clean. The service was friendly and good. The rooms were large.

Staff are friendly, helpful, and speak perfect English. Our room was excellent, and the restaurant has lovely interesting food for both breakfast and dinner.

We arrived from the US to a spectacular landing on a clear, sunny day. The pre-arranged never showed or we miss them entirely, though we arrived on time. A convenient taxi at the curb for the previously researched price of 150Kr. Made the 10 minute ride to the hotel. The red building is surrounded by crushed granite rock, not kind to luggage wheels. The apartment we booked was available, the reception friendly and we moved to the separated building with our security key tags. They are aware most of the steps on building exteriors are still mesh as you would find in a ski resort. There are very few handrails. Our apartment was actually two floors I was never clear about that bedroom and bathroom and the entry level. With narrow steep steps to the upper floor with the sitting area and sufficiently equipped kitchen. It doesn't have but would benefit from a microwave. Don't expect any amenities... there were two small tubes of Bath and Body liquid soap. We brought the following: European nightlight plug-in for the bathroom, lotion, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, wash cloths, magnifying mirror, shower cap, slippers, ground coffee, filters, creamer, protein bars, snacks, etc. The dinner menu is interesting; a variety of proteins, fresh greenhouse vegetables, potatoes, excellent quality, well presented. And like most countries outside of North America the server does not come back to ask you if you need anything or how the meal is tasting. The property is about a four block walk down to a shopping area, the mall easily accessible with a variety of restaurants coffee shop clothing specially children's toys camping gear etc. The art Museum is as others have noted literally next-door the weather is terrible that's a good place to go without being in the elements long.

Decently sized room with all the kitchen amenities that a person generally would need for a short stay. Good water pressure with plenty of hot water. The Nuuk Art Museum is practically next door, and then it's an easy walk to the cathedral, other museums, and even the boardwalk along the shore (Nuuk is not a big place). Also close to the main shopping street and the brewery. Breakfast at the hotel is not elaborate but gives you enough: breads, fruit, meats, yogurt, etc. The coffee was strangely weak (old-school American style). The hotel is in a quiet area, set back from the road, although some rooms overlook the gravel parking ("parkering") lot, with intermittent noise of tires crunching and doors slamming; not too bad, if you do not need to have your window open. In July and August, though, you may want to have your window open at times; there are no fans nor A/C, naturally. Staff are friendly and helpful, for the most part, even when inundated by a group from a cruise. There is a restaurant on site.

Overall, a pretty disappointing stay at the Hotel Nordbo. We booked this hotel entirely because they advertised a one bedroom apartment with separate living room area/kitchen. Upon arrival, we were told that they didn't have the room that we booked, but no worries, we have been upgraded -- and as an apology they would give us a free breakfast. Side Note: This room issue seems to be a common occurrence. The couple in front of us were checking in and were told there was a booking mistake with the website and there was no room for them anymore. But good news! Someone missed their flight, so they could take that person's room. What would have happened if that person didn't miss their flight? I guess that couple would have been out of luck. Anyway, upon our arrival into the room, we were shocked to discover that it was a super tiny room, with two small twin beds pushed together. Our original apartment was supposed to be around 900 square feet, and the one we were standing in was just a single room that was maybe 150 sq feet. In fact, we looked at their website while we were there, and discovered we were now in the smallest room they offer -- so not an upgrade. Since I was traveling with just an acquaintance, this tiny room, made the situation quite awkward and stressful for the two of us. But because it was nearly 9pm when we checked-in, and there were no other rooms left in the hotel or area, we had to suck it up and stay for the one night. The room itself was clean, though it was strangely very hot in the room. This must have been a reoccurring complaint, because there was already a large fan in our room that we had to have on throughout the night. The breakfast was fine and fresh made up mostly of pastries with a small hot option, but not worth the hefty price tag of around $20USD (if we did have to pay). Overall, we felt taken advantage of and honestly felt that the hotel should have done some sort of compensation.

Very plesant hotel in a quiet location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast in the restaurant, which also opens for dinner. The menu is limited but the food was excellent. Taxi service arrives quickly. Nuuk is small. Hotel location is within 10 (?) minutes walking distance of the mall, National Museum, a number of shops, nice restaurant. We loved room 23 because it has a nice upstairs sitting room/kitchen. CAUTION: There are also apartments called Nordbo City or Nordbo Centrum that are NOT hotels but are operated out of the hotel. These are just apartments - no desk, no reception, no transportation to/from hotel, nothing but apartments in a scruffy looking rectangular building some distance away. Do not look at them unless you really want to rent an apartment in Nuuk.
