Why the hotel is supposed to be a 4-star romantic hotel (it can't be the location either) is not clear to us. Our room (like all the rooms, apparently) was in a nondescript annex from the 90s (?) without any charm. Sober and functional. The room was spacious but had absolutely nothing to do with "romance". Quite the opposite. The bathroom, oddly round, wall in the shower with plastic worktop-style paneling, thin and extremely hard towels, 90s-style fittings, no coffee machine, minibar (included in the price, but there is only water and apple juice), musty smell, pipe wall heating, mini TV, wallpaper in the toilet with stains, furniture no longer up to date. To be honest: I have stayed in 3-star hotels that were much better. Breakfast is in a completely uncomfortable "hall" with the charm of a retirement home. There is hardly any light at the buffet in the morning in winter, only a floor lamp in the corner helps in one place. The selection was good, fruit salad and muesli in small glasses were very tasty. But here too I wonder what this room with this "non-atmosphere" has to do with a romantic hotel. The evening meal in the guest house (you have to leave the room building, go around the building where reception is, then you get to the restaurant) was excellent (1 Michelin star). The service and food were absolutely top-notch. The restaurant in its old building may be the reason for the "romance", but it is completely misleading to describe the hotel as such, as the guest house is on its own and has no spatial connection to the hotel. The lobby and reception are also located in a new building and are also sober. We would come back for the food, but not to stay overnight.
