Beware! This place is awful.
The rooms/overwater villas are ok, but the restaurant and common areas are absolutely awful, dirty, dated and run down. The few restaurants in the local area are very basic. Bora Bora doesn't have much to offer aside from luxury resorts. It's hard to get around to other resorts for food, as boat transfer is required ($300 for a 10 min trip) and I doubt that the resorts accept reservations from people that aren't guests... (They didn't when we called in desperation).
When visiting Bora Bora it's essential that you pick a resort with nice dining, bar, pool (if you have kids) and common areas... Bora Bora is the kind of destination where people never leave the resort, as there is essentially nothing on the island to see. Being stuck on Moana is a nightmare.
We transferred to Conrad after 2 days, and were slammed with a $6000 charge (based on a fictive price per night). Management staff at Moana gave us hell. Essentially this place will go out of business just like Sofitel a few block down the road. At this point they are just milking it, they don't care about customer satisfaction.
Didn't see any American or western guests during our stay. Instead most guests appeared to be Asian. Maybe Asian guests are less likely to complain? It blows my mind that anyone would give this place a good review.
