We chose Nový Bor as a base for exploring beautiful Bohemia, & sadly, that’s all it was - a base. This is NOT a 4star hotel, for the following reasons: No aircon in the room (it was an average of 25 degrees during the night); No refreshments (tea/coffee/water/etc.) in the room; The beds were really hard & uncomfortable; The decor in the rooms & the whole hotel was very dark & outdated (90s dark wood, & lots of black/silver); The shower head kept slipping down; We could hear every time another room used the toilet - the flush was almost in our room; They seem to like mirrors & large gaudy glass decorations here - loads of them; Don’t be fooled by the photos of the lovely old building at the front - no idea what they use it for, but it isn’t rooms; You have to pay to park by the hotel, but there is a free car park about 50m down the hill; Breakfast is served between 7&10am, but if you arrive after 9, you get what’s left.
