The staff are just great! Friendly and helpful. They made our stay. We had the astonishing Byron room. Magnificent This is an event hotel and we stayed on a quiet Sunday evening and had dinner in the restaurant. A good, well prepared meal.

The property is beautifully decorated and our room very comfortable. Walking around the grounds was easy and it was very pretty along the lake side. It does front on to the racecourse which was a surprise but we wanted to be outside the main town so it suited us well. Breakfast and dinner were very nice but a little bit pricey. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help with enquiries.

Stunning property, with some beautiful rooms, lovely grounds, and good food in the restaurant. Easy parking, which is just as well as the property is a little isolated.

Good value historic hotel. First impressions weren’t great. We were carrying our luggage up to the doors and a member of staff came ahead of us and promptly let the big outside door swing shut in our faces as we approached! Reception was empty and after 30 seconds the manager appeared and finished a phone call quickly to deal with us. The room was on the second floor and there was no lift. We were in the attic with an obstructed view of the car park & the racecourse behind. We noticed the towels on the radiator looked very messy, almost as if they were used so I went back down to the manager who brought us up fresh ones a short while later. That said it had everything we needed with a good selection of tea, coffee, water, tissues etc and for £55 it was very good value. The shower over the bath worked well and the towels were a good size. We’d happily stay again although not in that room due to the obstructed view.

Massive room and bathroon Room and bathroom massive,there was a wedding on but we were out until late and went quiet quickly. Easy for Uber taxis.
