Good hotel good service good food good working staff will come again

Very comfy beds and a clean room. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. A very reasonable price and excellent stay in a lovely city.

We stayed in a twin room (119) for one night (10/11.05.25) for the purpose of meeting friends for a night out in the city. The room was below standard as listed. ***** hair x2 in bath. Main bed crumbs on sheets. Metal Window frame degrading in structure and struggled to close. rattling when fully closed didn't prevent excessive noise throughout night with window fully closed. Conversations could be heard clearly from other rooms/staff. Noise from guest directly above and adjacent rooms banging doors before 6am on a Sunday morning. Overall broken sleep! Breakfast - 0930-0955hrs One staff member young girl in Costa leant across counter playing on her mobile phone, ignoring guests which looked very unprofessional. In queue for breakfast almost 10 minutes constant theme for us and other guest. No staff to be seen anywhere in restaurant, Another guest went looking for staff and a blonde woman appeared. No organisation with seating of guests. Dirty tables left all over the restaurant, poor hygiene principles. Lack of sufficient cutlery no forks and only one knife. Previous guest crockery/cutlery and wasted food just left not cleared this took a further 10 minutes to be removed on our table. Male manager asked if we’d finished when I had just sat down with cooked breakfast and a full plate of food. I asked for table to be cleaned and debris removed with more cutlery although this never arrived allowing my food to get cold. Our table was not wiped clean and remained dirty throughout our breakfast, seemed to be overlooked. Food selection was average with poor choice often depleted, fried or scrambled eggs (what was left). Sides were not cleaned down….this is basic hygiene. Coffee machine only 1 of 2 working causing huge queue and no organising of guests. Certainly not worth £10.99 each for breakfast. Then three staff seen but no direction or organisation from male manager in charge, very poor. Reception - went to mention list of issues again straight after breakfast, no staff present at all! This was at 0956hrsprime checkout time. I have always been an keen advocate of Premier Inn, regularly using and recommending to friends and colleagues as the ‘go to place’ in any UK city. This has been the worst hotel I have stayed in for a number of years, the charge of £150 for our stay was extortionate and the quality of the place / staffing levels and lack of basic hygiene were far below acceptable standards. Management declined to reply to emails, avoid this place it’s run by muppets! .
