The Royal Hotel

High end price tag for an old worn out antiquated dilapidated hotel, more like staying at Fawlty Towers! Stained carpets in hall ways & bedroom. Mould stains in a shower with a shower head fixed so you could only wash your head. Really disappointed

Second time at the Royal and much better this time. The room was clean and adequate, very plain decor. Bathroom a reasonable size and again quite clean. Overall the room / bathroom a little dated and tired but did the job. Dinner was quite good foodwise and service. Breakfast was a great improvement on our last stay, food served buffet style. Fried eggs, still the smallest I've ever seen and on one morning were swimming in fat. The rest of the buffet was quite good especially the hash browns, very tasty. Booking out was fast and easy, Overall a reasonable stay and will use again when in the area.

Just had a 3 night stay at The Royal..1st time. Was a quirky hotel with hampton Maze corridors!! which we found amusing & Fun... We arrived on Wednesday, and, after a small issue, (which our Man Will.. rectified) We ate at the Carvery that night and were more than Happy & Satisfied with our meal. The Breakfasts were excellent !! Hot & plentiful, choice etc. and Nam the attendee was omnipresent to help . The Bar waitress on Friday evening did a Fantastic job... on her own... coping with a last minute influx of customers.. as did the Restaurant staff.. Will & Nam.. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and were really blessed with great weather, we loved the Village.. (it could do with a cpl more Pubs!) and would probably stay again.. Many Thanks. D & C xx

Called in for a drink and a light lunch after a walk along the cliff paths. I am sorry to say that the food was very disappointing. We ordered a sandwich with chips, which was described as being served on thick malted bloomer bread. The sandwich was served on standard medium sliced supermarket bread, the turkey was dry and the chips were soggy, grey in colour and tasteless. For £13.90 it was a very poor offering. Won't be returning.

My brother and I stayed for 3 nights from 26th to the 29th of July. We were in the area for the classic Mundesley car show in Gold park (Sunday). Pleasantly surprised how clean,tidy and well maintained the whole hotel was. Staff were very friendly especially Will who was very professional,chatty and approachable. Our twin room was very clean,comfortable and a great size. Super quiet so a good nights sleep. The cooked breakfast was fresh,with plenty of choice and very tasty. All in all a great weekend so thanks to all the staff. We will be back for next years car show but we will be extending our stay!!.

Only went for dinner whilst staying in the town on holiday. We went for a special occasion after having a few drinks in the bar on days previously. The bar is cosy and friendly. The restaurant was busy and only had one member of staff serving and she was good but struggling. The food was a strange mix of dishes - I had ordered a triple chicken burger - this was three chicken fillets in a bun. There was no seasoning or coating on the chicken and it was generally dry fillets. It was not as expected in any way or how I have ever seen a chicken burger. My wife had chicken dish - however this was a chicken on a bed of fries covered in cheese sauce and then more blue cheese. This is such a strange dish and was really quite greasy and fatty as you can imagine. The mixed sea food looked very nice that was ordered. The staff were helpful - however overall, the meals were basic and were no better than you could knock up in your own kitchen as a after pub meal when you were short of in refiners and half-cut and not really appetising, just functional and reminded me of a hotel as they were in the 1970s or 80s. The restaurant menu is in need of a general overhaul and needs some finesse and vegetables to make more of what is there. The restaurant could be great - but food is uninspiring, unusual and really clearly dated.

This was a Sunday lunchtime, bar was slammed at times but the barmaid was a diamond. Served everyone very quickly and without fuss. Great stuff deserves a medal. People like that are hard to find do think a bit more support would be an advantage

We were staying local for a week and was told about the Sunday carvery . We walked along the road and were expecting to walk miles but genuinely not a long walk at all. We sat outside with a drink to start we went in for the carvery and was seated . Was told to go to the carvery when we and were ready ! The meat was all very tasty. Veg was amazing , we enjoyed that much we booked for Wednesday again, no complaints. We would definitely visit again if in the areas 💯
