We arrived to the beautiful fronted hotel, and we're grated by the friendliest receptionist that I've ever met. Once she had checked us in, because it was getting on into the evening she checked to make sure we had eaten. We'd just had dinner at Mowgli (I highly recommend that too), and although we were full, we both commented on how great the restaurant smelt.
We were staying up at the top, and liked the little touches of rooms with names rather than numbers, particularly the fact that they had tree names and we work in the environmental sector.
Our room was much larger than expected, with a huge TV, massive comfy bed and all nicely and simply decorated.
The bathroom was also bigger than expected, and despite a slightly wobbly toilet handle and a creeky floor, it was also really lovely. It wasn't until a morning shower that I really noticed how big the bath was and kinda wished I'd had a bath the night before.
Breakfast was great, the food was really tasty and the service was brilliant with everyone wishing us good morning on our way in. Little touches that make a big difference.
The staff left us with a good impression not only of the hotel, but of the local area too. Highly recommended.
