We chose the Priest House hotel for a large family gathering and it was the perfect venue. Everyone found it easy to get to from different regions of England, and although it's close to the motorway and the airport, you really can't tell as you drive down the steep little lane past Donington Park. The hotel is at the end of the lane between the river Trent and a tributary, so it feels very rural and secluded. It has a real sense of history too, being so close to the old mill wheels that still sit on the riverside. The staff were always friendly and helpful while I was organising our event, and just as supportive and receptive to our needs on the day of the gathering. The Garden Suite where we held our meal and entertainment was perfect, with its own bar and little dancefloor and access to a private area of the gardens. The food and drink were good quality. Our bedroom was in the old cottages just across the lane so I don't know what rooms in the main building are like. Ours was a bit dated but had everything we needed. The main thing I would suggest it needs is some hooks / rails in the ensuite for towels and more sockets in the bedroom for charging phones etc - small things that so many hotel rooms could do with more of! The cottages are clearly old and small so noise does carry - if you're bothered about noise from other rooms the main building is perhaps more soundproof.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Clean room with the usual amenities, including bottled water. Beds are comfortable and supplied with 2 pillows, blackout curtains, so know light came in excellent. As a bigger than usual man did have a bit of a squeeze to get between the sink and the door handle(room 26). Breakfast was well worth the extra. If in the area again, we will definitely stay.

GGuest UserStayed here for one night before our flight £10 to park your car as a guest is simply shocking !! Check in was friendly but was told no evening meals available but could eat in other hotels if we contacted them to book a table , ( we are at the premier next door ) Upon returning to the hotel people were eating food !! 2 gin and tonics £26 is taking the mick ! Room is basic but comfy with all you need , Breakfast , prob one of the poorest breakfasts I think we’ve had , Had to wait for food to be put out as they had run out , by which time our other bits were cold so had to microwave ! Pretty poor experience
BBurtLindaHandy Hotel for the terminal. I couldn’t hear planes from my room which was clean and tidy although a little ‘worn’ It didn’t detract from the handiness of being so close to the terminal for an early flight. Nice shower and comfy bed. Kettle and coffee sachets or tea bags were handy first thing in the morning.
The food was ok but not a lot of choice (sign of the times maybe?) the beer was nice though!
The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice to know if a lone traveller like I was.
Can't praise Larisa on the reception enough she is an absolute credit to the hotel. From first arriving she was so welcoming and friendly and even offered to move her car for me as she realised I wasn't particulary happy where I had to park my car as it was so busy. And fortunately for me she was on the reception again on my return and greeted me again with a huge smile and asked if the holiday had gone well . Good Customer care doesn't seem to be important these days to some people but I can confirm that Larisa went above and beyond to ensure that this was definitely not the case. She's a credit to the hotel!
GGuest UserIt must be at least my fifth visit to this hotel. I've always had a pleasant stay, but unfortunately, the hotel section has gone downhill. Firsty the carpark is so damaged pot holes etc I damaged my car which is quite low. Check-in is in the pub and had to wait a long time to be seen. The room was clean. However, we were woken more than 7 times by a radiator in the room that would randomly grumble. Very loud indeed. If you got out of bed and tapped it, it stopped. Definitely needs looking at. The food in pub however was very nice indeed. However, a glass of processco should be a glass flute, in my opinion, and not half a flute?? When I questioned this, they said you only get 125ml
Nice room, spacious with all usual fixtures and a comfortable bed. Good value for money. Bar and cooked food available. Plenty of parking (free). Good location if travelling. Ideal for the East Midlands airport and for nearby University of Nottingham Sutton Bonington campus.
Booked here for 3 people to share a room near the airport . Advertised with a restaurant , bar , reception etc . We arrived at 2pm for check in to find it in darkness and all locked up . Virtually no phone signal there to ring anyone up. So we went across road to the castle inn to use their WiFi .( loverly pub) . Got hold of someone about 3 pm ish who said she be at reception. We went over and she was there a very friendly girl who showed us to our rooms ? . Sorry do you mean room ? No the hotel is shift so we put you in 2 rooms in an outside bit . Room had 2 electric heaters in it and was like a tropical rain forest with the heat and the damp . The room was shocking as in shocking. . Smelled fusty and damp , plug socket hanging off the wall that had been stuck on with blue tack !!! A extension lead nailed to the bathroom wall for to and kettle . The bathroom what I could see of it as lights didn’t work looked like something out a horror film . Too late to do anything so went to sleep . Told other lad not to bother coming as it’s a dump . At 11.30 pm I was awoken by some guy banging on my window ! . His car was in car park and barrier had gone down and he did not have a code . I took him to reception that was locked up rang after hours number no answer so I went back in . £90 I paid for this and it was disgusting
