We did not realise there is no option to have breakfast, even paying extra for it. Also not serving dinner on the night we arrived, Monday. Think that may be the only day. Not keen on the bed, with the mattress not covering bedstead on one side, leaving a metal edge. There was an outer door to a lobby with doors to 2 bedrooms. We were asked not to lock that, which we were not entirely comfortable with from a safety point of view. Understand this was a budget option so expectations not too high, but it was a clean and practical room. Just asked to leave key in room on departure, so did not make comments to staff.

Although my price was with a discount it was not even worth that. Room was absolutely filthy, beard hair all over the floor in the bathroom, hairs in the sink bed had brown stains in, towels were covered in stains. The shower leaked everywhere, rubbish down the side of the bedside tables, dirty mark on walls, skirting boards that looked like they’ve never been dusted In their life, walls are paperthin and can hear everything my neighbours are saying on the phone. Cobwebs from the wall to the bed frame. Just not practical or clean especially with my 2 year old child during a pandemic. Such a shame because the staff were lovely upon arrival and In the bar, the outdoor seating area is beautiful and there’s a kids park, but the place is clearly not what it seems.

Good price. Comfortable bed and good temperature in the room despite the uncomfortable heat outside. Unfortunately the room was let down by the low standards of cleanliness. There was somebody’s false nail on the carpet. There was an empty shampoo bottle on the floor in the shower, indicating the shower hadn’t been cleaned. The inevitable Gideon’s bible in the drawer has got wet at some point and is mouldy. You don’t exactly expect soundproofing in any hotel accommodation but we could hear every word that the couple next door spoke so don’t expect to be able to hold a private conversation here. And the TV didn’t work so no hope of drowning out your conversation with that. In summary, the bed was clean and comfortable and it served its purpose for a night’s sleep. Don’t expect much more than that.

Not worth £80 for 1 night, the room was tiny and freezing cold. The heating was set at zero when we got there, it would of been nice to have been turned on a couple of hours before we was due to arrive. The bedding felt damp it was that cold. The walls are so thin you could here the conversations had in the room next door and here them using the toilet! The room was clean but we did find it strange that the carpets had been fitted around the bedside tables leaving them stood on the concrete floor. To top it off at 2am in the morning someone kept trying our door to get in! No faults with the pub food though although a bit more expensive the carvery was the best we've had

Visited with my husband, we both had the lamb shank & it was to die for! The young lady who looked after us was lovely, and the man in charge who showed us to our table & opened a window when he saw we were too warm was very attentive. Big shout out for the beer which is brewed on the premises too!

We stayed here for one night in January 2022. We arrived around 6:30pm and when we got to our room the heating hadn’t been switched on & it was absolutely freezing cold!!! We went to a nearby pub/restaurant for food as The Tap House had stopped serving at 6pm (it was a Sunday evening, we were aware of this, that was fine.) When we returned to our room, it was still cold, even though we’d turned the heating up as high as it would go. It was cold ALL night. There was also a dog in the vicinity - not necessarily on site, but certainly nearby - which took to howling in the middle of the night. We barely slept all night. Upon reading the guest information the following morning we saw that additional blankets are available “on request”. In a room as cold as that one, the blankets need to be stored in the room, not on request when there aren’t staff readily available on site.
