I stayed here for one night as I working in the area. All the staff were warm, friendly and accomodating and the room was clean, well decorated and comfortable. There was plenty of parking too. Very reasonably priced and I would most definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, good food, lovely clean room, free parking and a great location. The landlady got up early for me so I could get my breakfast and be on my way. Slept solid all night. Will be back. I’ve read some negative reviews on here and I can only think this was before the current owners.

Brilliant. Stayed through the week for work, cosy rooms, great beer garden and delicious food 😁 Elaine was always on hand and had no issues when I had left my room keys in the office mid stay. Cracking local pub I'll be back to stay in a few weeks.

Elaine, Kate and the team always make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Their hospitality is informal yet professional and it’s a perfect place to meet friends for a drink and supper. The rooms are comfortable, warm and clean and the overall experience has been perfect.

Was a lovely hotel staff was so friendly food in pub was amazing can't fault it at all felt very welcomed good value for money room was cosy bed was comfortable good size room selection tea coffee biscuits staff was so helpful room was ready when we got there smooth checkin

Very friendly with a warm welcome. We were very late arriving and the host was most accommodating and made us a cuppa and sat us by the fireside. Lovely comfortable room and we slept deeply and woke up refreshed. Nice hot shower in the en suite bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Dog friendly country pub in a quiet setting,

Recently stayed while on business, the wonderful friendly welcoming staff were a credit to the place & the food was excellent. Booked a double room which was immaculate, quiet and very comfortable. Can't recommend The Black Dog enough, to anyone visiting this panoramic area for business or pleasure. Hoping to be back enjoying it's hospitality very soon.
