Very enjoyable stay and great location on the sea front with plenty of free parking spaces. The breakfast was second to none with vast choice of cereals, fruits and yoghurt and a full English breakfast, again with large choice of traditional fare, all well cooked and fresh. The large double bed was very comfortable and the shower good and powerful. The staff were all attentive and hard working and the manager had a nice word and advice on where to go, with every guest. I could not fault the experience in any way and would highly recommend

Waited over an hour for hot beef baguette and a steak pie, what finally came was a turkey cold baguette as apparently no beef? Didn’t think to tell me though , don’t like turkey , I paid for something I didn’t get with no apology, done bother with this place!

I had a very good experience, room was clean, I slept very well, very good breakfast, plenty of choice and very friendly staff

Stunning location extremely helpful staff (especially Deborah) nothing was too much trouble, as my wife is visually impaired staff went out of their way to help thank you all for such a pleasant stay.

Lovely art deco style hotel in a great location just opposite Longsands beach (perfect for a bracing morning dip, which we did!) Positives: Hotel recently refurbished, everything nice and new Friendly staff. Found every staff member to be polite and charming. Overheard a couple at breakfast moaning about how rude they were - in my experience they were anything but rude! - I suspect if you treat people in a disrespectful and patronising manner you're likely to have a negative response. Areas for improvement: The food is good - I had the pie of the week (game pie) which was lovely. Portion sizes fine. Buffet breakfast has a good selection. The food falls short of being excellent however - it's by no means terrible but needs finessing. Our room wasn't cleaned - did put the "please clean" sign on the door in early afternoon after not being cleaned in the morning but was missed. We ran out of toilet roll too (only two half used rolls were supplied). Will still stay there again, it's ideal for visiting a relative and despite the *******, the best we've found in the area.

We booked in for a night to visit family and were very impressed at the new look. The room and service was excellent with a great quality breakfast. We'll definitely be back 👍

This was my second visit to the Tynemouth Castle Inn today, on both occasions I found the surroundings, food and staff 5 star. Very dog friendly. Excellent menu, something for everyone, same for drinks. Beautifully clean and tastefully decorated

Lovely new hotel. Found the lighting a little dark in communal area but our eyes did adjust. A lot of high rise seating so not good for my 80 year old husband. Lots of people staying with dogs which we did not like them near the buffet area. Lots and lots of outside seating to just sit and watch the sea. Breakfast had plenty to offer but our cooked breakfast was cold and been sat too long in warmers. Staff very nice and helpful.

Called in for lunch having watched the transformation of the old Park hotel. First impressions were good, plenty of seats and everywhere looked nice and clean. Food was nice if a tad expensive. Big downer was the seating behind us where the occupants seemed to think it was ok to have their dog at the table on their lap! Staff either weren't aware or condoned it. When did this sort of behaviour become acceptable? Not a fan of dogs where food is anyway, but this is is beyond a joke. Put us off a return visit.
